the new figure down at the west coast eagles

Alot has happened in the west coast camp over the past few months, heres what you missed.

The west coast eagles have made a stunning signing. They have decided to sack coach john Worsfold, after he took them to premierships in 2006 and 2007, there replacement, none other than football personality Brian Strauchn.
amongst signing Brian said to the media " if this is anything like me down at collingwood, then we can win 10 flags", " mick still dosnt know, should've probably told him, and mum, but shes Asian, wouldn't understand"

It has been a signing that has shocked the football world and Caroline Wilson, who recently married football head Robert walls had to say that "it is absolutely the downfall of the afl, to see this character to coach a professional afl team". Brian strauchn was quick to dismiss those claims by claiming "carro isnt a superstar"

As if that wasn't enough drama for the west coast over the break, j west coast chairman trevor nisbett announced that they have suspended roughster daniel chick indefinitely, and there are already suspicions in the media that his career is over and he is willing to be traded off at trade week, which is approaching this week. however Strauchn was quick to dismiss any rumors about chickeys future "chickey could play until hes 78, he wont, but he could" strauchn told hutchy who broke yet another exclusive on the footy show the other day.

Another shocking story over the break was the return of ashley sampi, the fallen eagle. over the summer he signed up for a enraging fitness program were he lost over 150 kilograms, but realized he weighed as much as a twig, so he put on 100 more kilograms. also during the break, we've seen chad fletcher admit that he and anthony callea are a "item"

so its been a big few months in football, and with trade week just around the corner, things are certain to hot up.

well what a trade week it has been

the eagles only did to trades, as strauchn called it "playing cool, or something like that". however strauchn was quick to remove his comments made last week about daniel chicks future after the eagle was traded off for geelongs travis varcoe.

"i defintly did not say that....., chickey never had a future here anyway...he needs a haricut so we told him to go" were just some of strauchns comments about the situation.

he also commented about the arrival of john hinge and ian perrie, at the cost of the number one draft pick

" yeh bucks should add versitility to our midfield....what we didnt get bucks, oh i was told we got buckely and hird, who'd we get instead?
"hinge and perrie, who the f**** are they"

also eagles off loaded star eagle ashley sampi, stragiht after he lost 50 kgs and dedicated himself to the club.the eagles gained 30 year old david rodan once again brian struachn was forced to defend himself
" let me set the record straight, i am not racist, but we had to let go of sampi cause theres to many abo's here.
Reporter:well why did you get david rodan who is also aboriginal
"oh shit is he, they told me he was italian"

so now to have a look at the rest of the completed trades and there are some shocks, with names like andrew carazzo moving, and nathan carrol

TRIBUNUAL ROUND 1

it has been a pretty quiet opening round of the afl as far as the tribunal goes, with only 3 players contesting charges

carltons david teague only escaped with a 2,000 fine, after he was caught wrestling with fremantles justin longmuir in carltons 1 point win over fremantle

teague said that he was dissapointed the matter was taken this far, all it was was a push and shove

the west coast eagles have suffered a major blow, as speedstar and pre season brownlow favourite daniel kerr has been fined for 2 matches for stricking essendons jobe watson. this ruins his chances of winning yet another brownlow medal. he has apologised to the club for letting them down.

the other case heard in the tribunal was cats skipper tom harleys charge of striking sydneys amon buchanon. tom harley will recieve a 2 match ban in a incident which he said shamed him alot.

BIG STORIES

AFL TARGETS ATTENDANCE LEVELS
written by mike sheehan

today, afl boss andrew demetrio targeted club fans, and urged them to attend club matches, and not just watch them on tv.

he said that the fans are a vital part of the games future, and if fans didnt go then the game would have serious problems.

in other news channel 7's ratings have skyrocketed over the past month

DEMETRIO RULES OUT ORIGIN RETURN
written by caroline wilson

football fans often try to find a goldne moment for there club, one moment that has shaped there club forever. some people also try to find the greatest moments ever in the afl, however i believe i have found thew lowlight of the history of our game. yesterday andrew demetrio said that state of origin will not be played this year. his excuse for killing football was that the players were to busy and would not want to compete in such a event.

the AFLPA have quickly fired back at this by saying, as a playing group, we would be delighted to play state of origin. so it is obvious, Andrew Demitrio is cancer to australian rules football and he must get the sack, before he ruins what was a once a good game to watch, and it is actions like this that angers football fans and i should be running the afl.

EAGLES COACHING BLUES
written by Robert Walls

A month after the eagles had won there second premiership in a row, star eagles chris judd and ben cousins had signed new contracts, it seemd as though nothing could go wrong at the eagles, however it did.

they suprisngly brought in a new coach, none other than football personality and comedian brian strauchn. it was a risky move that shocked the football world, and eagles fans and the board were hoping it would pay off.

however it hasnt, the eagles have lost there first 2 matches by massive margins, and after strauchn traded off players like ashley sampi and daniel chick, who have all been in career form since leaving, he picked up players in rhan hooper, ian perrie and travis varcoe, who have had absolutely no impact on the club, and could be the reason for the poor form of what was the reigning premiers.

and what does the coach have to say about this. in a recent conference brian strauchn said "its not my fault there s***" and followed it up by saying "SSSSTTTTRRRAAAUUUCCCHHHNNNIIIEEE".

i can only say what a shame it is to see the reigning premiers on the verge of extinction and in such a fertile position.

TRIBUNUAL NEWS
it has been a productive night at the tribunal again, with three cases being heard, but only 1 player was given a match penalty

port adelaides damon white (what a coincidence :D), was found guilty of striking sydneys nick davis and will recieve a one match ban.

it was better news down at the cattery, with gun forward tom hawkins escaping with a $1,000 fine for his wrestle with west coasts matthew rosa.

in better news for the cats, matthew egans charge of striking tyson stenghlin was thrown out.

FRASER GEHRIG CHARGED IN NIGHTCLUB INCIDENT

The St Kilda football club and fraser gherig, have yet another reason to be dsiapointed this season, with full forward fraser gehrig arrested in a Melbourne nightclub last night, for apparently assaulting to security guards and harassing to female patrons of the night club.

A police report filed this morning, showd that a extreemly drunk fraser gherig was the person in question, and that witness's firstly saw fraser approaching to women and forcing himself apon them, and amongst the womens refusal, he got quite angry and began to harass and act inappropriate towards them.

it has been reported that then two men, who were later identified as security officers at the night club came over to see what the fuss was, and told fraser to go away. fraser then got angry and began to hit one of the guards across the face, and hit and kicked the other. eventully he was taken out of the nightclub and police were called, and he was charged with assault.

it has also been reported that fraser was not only out over the clubs curphew, but he also had a blood alcohol limit of 0.8 which is a dangerous ammount of alcohol for a professional footballer to consume. there are no reasons or reports as to why he reacted with such rage

Fraser has been in poor form throughout the season, only managing 1 goal in his first 3 games.

the st kilda football club have yet to adress the matter, and give fraser a punnishment
