Points Matching- How to Calculate:

Picks 1-18: Points value of pick less 10% discount
Picks 19-36: Points value of pick less 84 points discount
Picks 37+ : Next available pick

From the points required deduct the value of the next available pick and repeat until the total of the picks used exceeds the value required. The value of the surplus is then used to add back the pick closest to that value

For example a bid at pick 2 for Uwland:
• Pick 2 = 2481 points less 10% means 2233 points are needed to match
• Gold Coast have picks 15 (973), 18 (836), 24 (621) totalling 2430 points
• There is a surplus of 197 points which is equivalent to pick 43 (184 points)
• So to match, Gold Coast lose picks 15,18,24 and gain pick 43

As promised, it’s time to run a second mock draft as the deadline for pick swaps approaches this Friday and a final draft order is settled that takes into account each club’s list openings

So with a bit more information on draftees and club priorities and time to fill by the real thing we’re going to have another crack. It also gives posters who missed a spot in the first mock to have a go - the following posters will be given an automatic starting spot provided they confirm their intention to participate

eaglevision
omgfridge
maxrm
TheBudgies
Miguel Sanchez
beagles
stallon
eaglespremiers

Anyone else who’s keen to have another go or missed the first mock can register their interest in this thread

RULES

1. Time is of the essence. If this drags it becomes a lot less interesting. You have a maximum of 12 hours to select after you have been tagged. If you do not meet this deadline or if you’re otherwise delaying for the sake of it, I will select for you.
2. Please do remember to tag the next selector as the process runs much faster if you do.
3. If you are aware of an upcoming inability to take a pick, please PM me a few preferences. I won’t be participating as such so I’m no danger of giving away your strategy
4. This is a draft designed to educate the board on prospects. Please write some details about the player you are selecting.
5. Father-son and academy players can be bid on and their team can decide to match. Tag me in a post if you are planning on bidding for a player, and I will sort out the points required then PM the relevant selector for a decision on whether to match
6. As in the draft proper, live trading of picks will be allowed
7. So everyone has a chance to participate I’ll take applications up to noon Saturday 8/11 before selecting the 18 list managers and allocate teams at random.
8. I’ll announce the selected posters on Sunday, and start the draft at 10.00am Monday 10/11. The delayed start is to give participants time to negotiate trades/pick swaps with other clubs before the draft commences

Adelaide (16,48): AsterixTheGaul

I’m pushing this all back one day

So teams will be allocated to posters tonight and the draft start on Tuesday

I’m waiting for a final AFL draft order to come out that takes into account club’s available list spots and maybe an update from Twomey on how many picks clubs intend to use
