Points Matching- How to Calculate:

Picks 1-18: Points value of pick less 10% discount
Picks 19-36: Points value of pick less 84 points discount
Picks 37+ : Next available pick

From the points required deduct the value of the next available pick and repeat until the total of the picks used exceeds the value required. The value of the surplus is then used to add back the pick closest to that value

For example a bid at pick 2 for Uwland:
• Pick 2 = 2481 points less 10% means 2233 points are needed to match
• Gold Coast have picks 15 (973), 18 (836), 24 (621) totalling 2430 points
• There is a surplus of 197 points which is equivalent to pick 43 (184 points)
• So to match, Gold Coast lose picks 15,18,24 and gain pick 43

If TY24 wants to match

Bid at pick 26 requires 477 points to match

Picks 34 and 39 total 617 points - an excess of 140 points - equivalent to pick 46
Sorry for the delay, can't say I was expecting a bid this early.

With Miochek and Cox out the door and not much else in terms of tall stocks... Collingwood would be silly not to match this bid.

With pick 26 Collingwood match North Melbourne's bid on Zac McCarthy.

Back to you txbyhull

Schtinker

Your time has come

Schtinker messaged me earlier with his intentions

With pick 29 Essendon select Archie Ludowyke

And with pick 30 they place a bid on Jack Ison

Bid requires 370 points to match with pick 38 being worth only 277 points - a deficit of 93 points. This is roughly equal to pick 48 (102 points) which is about where Carlton’s pick 54 would be had I not deleted it at the start of this mock.

Therefore, in fairness I’m allowing Carbine Chaos to match with pick 38 if he chooses, unless he has some other scheme in place to not match

Pick #9

Harry Dean -:- 194cm -:- Tall Defender

Comparison -:- Jeremy McGovern

The best key defender in the pool is the earliest key back picked at a draft since 2020 and would have been the earliest father-son in Carlton's history except some muppet decided to pass on him. Dean will compliment Zach Reid down back and will develop to replace Ridley in defence. The son of former Blue Peter Dean, the Murray Bushrangers defender returned from injury last season to star this year and dominate in the back half. He was superb for Vic Country and is a player who is hard to find in drafts with his defensive mindset, marking ability and competitive instincts.

Dean's stock soared during a blistering National Championships for Vic Country, averaging 15 disposals and six marks, routinely intercepting opposition forward entries with his confidence to fly, and then showing a willingness to take the game on by foot.

He reads the high ball coming inside 50 early too, and innately understands when to peel off, float across, and either lay a spoil or take a big contested mark.

Dean has a great athletic profile too, with speed to stay with mobile marking forwards, the evasiveness to step through traffic, and a great vertical leap which allows him to take the ball at its highest point.

Pick #10

Sam Cumming -:- 184cm -:- Midfielder

Comparison -:- Isaac Heeney

There's the power, the physical grunt, the overhead marking and the tenacity that comes with Cumming that makes him an appealing player for clubs. He tested well at the Draft Combine last month after returning from a shoulder injury, having shown his traits playing for North Adelaide's senior side, when he kicked three goals from 21 disposals against South Adelaide. Cumming could start as a half-forward but projects as a midfielder with a point of difference. Cumming will be an ideal replacement for Parish or Merrett next year.

In the mould of Sydney's Isaac Heeny, Cumming is capable of holding down a forward target role while being able to follow up his work once the ball hits the deck and can roll through midfield as a ball winner who can turn a game in an instant.

Following his stellar carnival with the Croweaters, Cumming returned to North Adelaide to play for their senior side, where he was able to have an immediate impact against senior opposition. His debut saw him feature in the Roosters' best, while his second of four appearances netted him three goals from 21 possessions against South Adelaide.

Western Bulldogs bid on Beau Addinsall
omgfridge
Gold Coast pass

I want to make at least 1 draft choice and I don't think he's actually of need with the other selections. GC probably go into deficit to match I imagine on draft night.

With Pick 28 West Coast select Jevon Phillipou

Write up along with the Dyson Sharp one over the weekend

If we landed this kid with pick 28 it would be the steal of the draft IMO.

Id be ok with using 13.....16 on him.

The kid can play and is an impact player who can kick goals. Duel sided, good pace and skills. Ultra competitive.
