Say what you will about Bazball, they'd at least be having a crack at winning this. 388 off 76 overs is a tall task on a 5th day wicket but it is a batsman's paradise

King going out is a bit disappointing. I get they're a long way off the target but he at least was playing at the ball.

Both Windies openers gone in quick succession, an NZ win is back on the table.
If there was any chance of a Windies fight (I could see them going swinging after Lunch if they were still 0 or 1 down) is now gone.

And as I type this they're 3 down.

Windies falling apart. Given how weak the NZ bowling attack is (due to injuries), and the highway courtesy of Pakistan, this is pretty bad. They can be world beaters and then a minnow the next day. Would enjoy a good fightback again like last test.

As someone who has absorbed and dissected cricket stats for over 50 years, I am still astounded that we can see a "first" in first-class cricket in 2025 - and which occurred in a Test match, no less.

Has no ego whatsoever. Would be great to have a beer with. Don't mind Wagner. Has the Darren Gough's about him in terms of giving it his all.
Wagner is a good egg imo. Really interesting back story, got everything through hard work and determination.

Good interview with him on this pod if you have time.

Duffy finishing the test with a 5'fer and a 2-0 series win, a meek WI batting performance today after a good opening partnership.

How do you rate him?

I think he would have to be in the mix for our first choice test bowling line up now along with Henry, O'Rourke and Jamieson.

Thar't a somewhat underwhelming appraisal for someone who just took the most wickets for NZ in a calendar year. So he's not some sort of generational player in other words?

Duffy is 31 years old and averages 32 per wicket at FC level.

He's done well this year, but could easily not be in the team next year on the Australian tour.
