Ok I know their is another playoffs thread but it looks like that is more like a prediction thread. So I thought I would make and East and West thread to talk about all the action in each conference throughout the playoffs.

So here it is....the WEST!

Wouldnt mind seeing KG go deep into the playoffs, dont want the Lakers to win a game but would love to see another Kings v Lakers series! Go the Kings. Oh and go Portland....big ups to Pippen.

Playoffs are weird when you dont have your team in the midst.

Holding Shaq will be tough. Rasho, Garnett and Smith are not exactly built solidly and they may struggle to contain him. Marc Jackson could get torn apart if he is tried. I'd expect alot of double teams.
But, that leaves Kobe. The T-Pups don't have too many great perimeter defenders compared to other teams. Kendall Gill is decent. I can see Garnett spending a bit of time on Kobe, which is possible due to his versatility.

Troy Hudson could exploit Fishers lack of pace.

In relation to the Spurs vs Suns.
Firstly. Shut down Marbury early. If we let him get into the game we might be in trouble.

Secondly, take advantage of their weakness.
Although they have Stoudamire, they are not as capable inside as we can be. Use our big fellas.

Also, we must restrict Marion's influence on the boards.

I`m hoping for KG to take the Wolves deep, but also hoping that the Admiral goes out in style. Not a Kings fan, so I wouldn`t mind seeing a first round exit. Dallas are interesting. Are they getting respect from the "experts"?

The Wolves have real matchup problems with the Lakers. They dont really have a quality perimeter defender for Kobe and Rasho, Smith, Jackson just cant handle Shaq. I think they will just do what everyone does. Collapse on Shaq in the post and hope the Lakers role player dont make their shots. I dont think the Wolves will put up much of a fight though.

Suns v Spurs game is now heading to OT thanks to Amare Stoudemire banking a 3 to tie it at 87.

What a game:)

A running banker by Marbury to win it in OT, unbeleivable shot from just outside the arc with the buzzer sounding as the ball left his hand, TD just missed 2 free throws that would have put them up by 4 points.

Final score Suns 96 Spurs 95 in OT.

Suns have stolen home court avantage.

This looks like to be a good series.

Big shock as the Suns upset the Spurs in OT behind a Marbury three. He was shooting everything in OT so he needed to make it. Spurs fans should wonder why Duncan wasn`t involved more in the offence. They`ll have to make an adjustment in game 2. Good to DRob shoot 8/8.

If it wasn't for Stephen Jackson then we would have had no chance.

Marbury owns us, and Tony's confidence needs to get boosted early on in game 2 to get our offence moving.

Duncan was double teamed well by the Suns, but when he dishes the ball out, our perimeter guys have to hit the shots. We haven't done that since 99.

I'm shattered by the loss. We REALLY should have won that game down the stretch. Jackson was our only guy that can hit FT's in our rotation.

More later.

That Suns, Spurs game was crazy!! Amare off the glass to send it into OT and then Starbury with the running off balance glass 3 for the win. A huge, huge win.

Phoenix have now played San Antonio five times this season for a 4-1 edge and you can bet the Spurs are seriously sweating right now!

Amare was a monster inside and Duncan just wasnt agressive enough. Parker is Marbury's bunny. Cant wait for game 2. Im kinda going for the Suns because I love the underdog but I know the Spurs will trouble the Lakers more than the Suns will and Im looking at the big picture (which is the lakers to lose) so I need the Spurs to get on track.

Nowitzki was a madman! He pretty much took Dallas on his shoulders and marched them to a game 1 victory. I think the Blazers will recover though, they wont go quietly.

As for the Kings, Jazz.....the Kings are just too good. The Jazz play them pretty well and I read somewhere that in 3 or 4 years they have played eachother in the postseason and in only 2 games was the final margin greater than 10 points. So the Jazz certainly match up well on the Kings....im still going with the sweep though. The Kings are just too good.

Lakers, Minnesota Game 1 underway and as expected the T-Pups roll over nice and early.

End of the 1st quarter and the Lakers are up 39-23! Kobe has 12 points, 3 boards and 5 assists in the first quarter and as a team the Lakers shoot 6-9 from deep in the first quarter, Fox is 3-3 from behind the arc.

Kings are the only team that can stop the Lakers.

T-Pups grimly hanging on at the half they are down 66-52. Lakers shot 61% from the field in the first half!!! 7-11 from downtown for 63%. No wonder the poor Pups cant win, they aint playing any defence!

Kobe has 28 and 7 assists at the half. Looks to be another big game from him.

Lakers definately came out to play. The Wolves cannot stop Kobe and Rasho et al are not strong enough to handle Shaq (who will be very determined).

If the Wolves cannot give the Lakers a hard series, then LA might be hard to stop.

Tony Parker has detailed what the Spurs have to do in Game 2 exactly.

“We want to try and get him the ball, but they’re going to double and triple team, so me, Jax, and Manu just have to hit our shots – and we’re going to win the series. If me, Jax, and Manu keep missing threes and wide open shots, then we’re going to lose.”

Well put Tony. Now let's put it into action!

Looks like another first round exit for the Pups

The Pups showed a little character in the 3rd quarter and they made a run to get within 4 points  But the Lakers quickly squashed them again by promptly going on a 12-0 run.

Pups could get swept.

Proved it again today too :D
Marion and Amare might as well not have been out on the court, they were well shut down by the Spurs. We had a 7 pt lead midway through the final quarter, but couldn't hold on. We lost a chance to take a 2-0 lead back to Phoenix. There is a reason why the Spurs were the No.1 seed, and even missing Willis and Robinson, they still prevailed.

Speedy Claxton!

While I don't deny Parker is in a funk against Marbury, Speedy proved his worth once again today and I'm proud that Coach Pop had the balls to play him in the clutch.

Stephen Jackson: How good is this guy?
He's come from obscurity, playing in leagues around the world, improved the defensive side of his game and is now one of our most valuable contributors. He didn't disappoint today, although some of his shots were waaaaaaay off.

Manu's 3 in the end? Pure bliss.

Well. Well. Well. Who would have thought Danny Ferry could have pull down double digit rebounds in a must win playoff game as this point in his career.

Marbury was outstanding, while Penny was valuable, but Marion, Amare and Johnson had average outings.

Timmy came through in the end. While he is not at the top of his game, he shook off Sundays game and game through with the goods. Gotta improve again in our next game, in which we should have Willis and Robinson (well deserved winner of the citizenship award) back into the fray.

Tony must get on his game soon and focus on his own abilities, while putting Stephon out of his head. But, Speedy Claxton has given Steph something to think about.

Go Spurs Go.
