Oh, and huge credit to Bruce Bowen. He did a great job in him for the most part.

Also, Timmy, David and Malik did a good job at restricting Shaq. Good form.

If that is not motivationg, I don't know what is.

Correct, cant agree more.If thats not a reason to give 110% then the Spurs have problems.

Its just starting to hit me how much a loss David Robinson will be to the Spurs and the NBA and even American Sports in general. He epitmises sportsmanship and what playing Sport is all about even in these days of professional sport with money being the main attraction.

Not having a go at the Lakers but they are hardly gracious Champions.Players like Magic,Jordan,Robinson and Hakeem never carried on with the attitude that Shaq, kobe and Phil Jackson emit. They played with class and let the scoreboard do the talking.

Well the Lakers face elimination. The bad news for San Antonio is that during their 3 year run as champions they have faced elimination 4 times and won all 4 times. They beat Sacramento in game 5 way back in 2000 on route to their first win. In their back to back year they came back from 15 points down against Portland in game 7 and won. And then twice last year they faced elimination against the Kings, they won game 6 to survive and force a decider, then won the decider in game 7 to go on and bitchslap the Nets.

Seems they enjoy facing elimination. Can the Spurs finally bury the champs...we'll find out pretty soon.

Go Spurs
Go Kings

well the Spurs go through.Trying to work out the the best match-up for them now.Have a feeling Nick Van Exel could give Parker fits, and Dirk will be very dangerous so im leaning towards the Kings even though a Divac/Clark front court with Pega shooting treys all night wont be a pushover.

Looking ahead beyond that i dont think the Nets will be easy beats either if they progress and meet the Spurs in the finals which it looks like might happen. They are playing great basketball at the moment and have good chance of creating a upset.

Just a thought.Phil Jackson has 1 year left on his contract and New york recently signed a short term contract to(1-2 years cant remember exactly) to Don Chaney.Got a feeling that Phil might head over to his old team in a year time.

Any thought on this?

Quote from Shaq
"The Spurs were better," O'Neal said. "We beat them the past two years. We knew what they were capable of. The Spurs were the team this year." [/i]
Praise from O'Neal? We must have done something right. :p

Tony is back. No doubt.
Timmy is slowly gainly leadership skills that we haven't had since Avery left.

I'm ecstatic. I'm still not calm. You load up NBA.com and you see the headline "Lakers eliminated" - magnificent.

Kobe was well held by the Bruce-man, whil their role players were held too...with Medvedenko still scoring and Horry not so much.

Kings or Mavs? I dunno who I'd prefer. Both are fast scoring, running teams with mutiple players that are capable of winning a game.

All I know is that we are into the WCF's, with Parker and Duncan booming. Thank god this series is over, because now Stephen Jackson can come out of his slump.
Go Spurs Go.

Lakers gone...Lakers gone... :D :D :D

Now I can just enjoy the rest of the playoffs, dont really care who wins now. Would love to see the Kings get up and win, pity we didnt see a Kings v Lakers series this year, I like Dallas but I would rather see the Kings win.

Wouldnt mind seeing AI get a championship but I dont the 76ers will make it to the Finals. New Jersey winning it all would be good, just to get one back for the East. Then their is the Spurs, who you just have to respect after getting rid of the Shaq and Kobe train. And you just gotta love MANU!!

Anyways...time to enjoy it now.

Oh and how about those Kings, forcing a game 6. Vlade Divac is the key, if he can play 30+ minutes in game 7 and stay out of foul trouble, the Kings may win and move on. All without Chris Webber. Would be a phenomenal effort.

I feel for the Kings right now. It's just unfair that they work at this for 3 years and they finally have their best shot at a title and Webber goes down. Big ups to the Kings for just going on with it and almost getting by Dallas. Any other side would have rolled over.

Spurs without Duncan, LA without Shaq, Nets without Kidd, Mavs without Diggler. All would have rolled over....yet the Kings are that good that they still made life extremely difficult for the Mavericks.

IMO the best team in the league wont win the title this year. Pity for the Kings, hope they win one next year. Not at the Bulls expence though :D

I don't understand how the 3rd seed Mavericks had home court in the series against the 2nd seed Kings.....how does that work??

They had a better record than the Kings, King were ranked 2nd as the Mid West and Pacific division winners get ranked 1-2.

Im pretty sure it was because the Kings were only 2nd "seed" because they won the Pacific Division. The Mavs had homecourt because they had a better record than the Kings in the regular season.

Pretty stupid i reakon. After the regular season it shouldnt matter who won what division and should go on conferance rankings.Kings should of played Portland and Mavs should of played Utah.

Someone correct me if im wrong

The two top seeds go to the division winners so despite Mavericks having a better record than the Kings, because the Spurs won the Midwest and had a better record than the Kings, they earnt the number 1 seed. The Kings won the pacific so they get the second seed. Then the seeds from 3 through 8 go by record.

But seeds dont mean home court advantage. Records mean home court advantage.

Spurs leading Mavs 66-57at halftime.Spurs were leading by 19 points at one time.Nelson started playing hack-a-bruce bowen and there were 36 fouls at half time. One of the longest 2nd quarters in NBA history, and probably the ugliest thanks to Nelson.

Tim Duncan has 26pts 9 Rbs and 4 assists at half, would have more until hack-a-bruce started.

Mavs obviously can't play D,this could be a long, ugly series.Dirk was getting schooled by D-Rob

Dallas is never beaten.

50 free throws?????

thats all ive got to say.from a jump shooting team.im gutted.

unbelievable..........................:(

Amazing to think a team can miss the first foul shot and then hit 49 in a row!

Nelson's crazy tactics paid off. TD is all class, but could not hit the last two foul shots. This is going to be one hell of a series. I can't believe how important this victory was for Dallas.

But, the Suns also won game 1. So, I'm not getting too ahead of myself. Heaven forbid somebody starts posting the poopie!

Dirk you are a dog.

The knock was accidental.

I assume you are talking about Malik Rose. But why didn't the Spurs call a Timeout to get him off the court?

That was a farce.
