Considering how well the Western Bulldogs are performing and the fact that they are second on the ladder you'd think that they'd be able to pull a better crowd to the Dome than 27,446. It's not the venue either, when the Bulldogs played Melbourne at the G in round 2 they got about the same crowd. How are they going to keep their head above water? Very pathetic effort by their supporters.

Melbourne supporters don't go to the dome, even though I did.

I thought it was a good turnout by Bulldogs supporters, especially for a game against 16th.

Fair suck of the sav. We don't exactly have the biggest membership going around and were playing bottom team Melbourne. I think 27,000 is exactly what I thought we would get.

u toss. 90% were doggies supporters as dees supporters dont like the dome. Were u there.

Also in round 2 we had more supporters than Melbourne at their home game as it was our replacement game.

Also check this out:
RND 6: Dogs vs Eagles, Crowd: 29,927
RND 14: Hawks vs Eagles, Crowd: 29,138
2004: Hawthorn 7.11 (53) Port Adelaide 15.15 (105) MCG 11,682 Sunday, 18 July

very pathetic effort mate

If we are copping critisim for attracting 27,000 against the bottom side, then I can live with that.

Give it a rest. Got figures on the proportions of Bulldogs supporters to Melbourne supporters? Didn't think so.

As someone has already pointed out, we were playing the bottom team. There weren't that many of their supporters there from what I saw.

Love your obsession, in gratitude I might send you a dvd of our game in round 10.
Hmmm... crowd was much less at that game too. At we don't have to sell four of our home games (overseas :D) each year.

And yet when hawthorn played an interstate team with the same amount of wins we are bandwagoners? The dogs match had more hype then Hawks vs Eagles. wouldnt be surprised if people from other clubs didnt even know the match was on.

By the way, the Hawks would have had 29,000 of the crowd at hawks vs eagles.

I think he was refering to a thread started by Dogs fan a while back that Hawthorn cant pull big crowds, so i think its fair to say the Dogs cant pull big crowds...

49,000 at todays game by the way between Hawks v Swans...

Can't be sure. Wouldn't whinge about hypotheticals when your boys started this obvious troll in the first place.

This shits me, and it's worse coming from a fellow Hawks supporter.

Western Bulldogs have done bloody well to survive, let alone flourish on the field and be genuine 08 contenders.

They, along with North & the Dees, have been shafted by the AFL in its grab for cash. Their right to the same degree of coverage and the same amount of exposure has been mortgaged by the AFL in favour of maximising earnings.

Not only has the inequitable scheduling of games, and the coverage of same, left teams like the Bulldogs with a significantly devalued product to offer sponsors, it has had the same effect over years on the the Club's ability to market itself to the next generation of supporter.

So inequitable treatment at the hands of the AFL has left a weakened brand and fewer supporters ... so lets all join in to kick the bastards whilst they're down through very little fault of their own

Stick it up 'em Doggies.

..which would have been in response to a Hawthorn supporter starting a thread about the Bulldogs ability to pull crowds:rolleyes:

Right on John. This has been our president and CEO's message the past 3 years when it comes to the CBF.

What where you expecting 40,000?
Its the Bulldogs against the Spooners.
I for one thought it was a good crowd considering neither team has a big membership.

John D can post on our board anytime.

Finally someone from hawthorn talking about our club without blinkers on

Leave the doggies alone. They are the most likeable side in Victoria and the dome is a filthy pile of human excrement, so it's no surprise that people don't show up.

Good luck next week too boys. Put the cat in the sink, and we'll turn on the water

Send him the latest North vs Hawks DVD as well and turn it into a box set.

No Vic team pulls consistently good crowds except Collingwood unless they are on a winning streak. The 52K crowd at MCG vs Adelaide was amazing. Biggest Home and Away crowd ever for a Crows game.

There were probably 47K Collingwood, maybe 5K Adelaide fans there.
