Looks like a drain and water rushing down

Funny noones mentioned Adelaide Force.I dont mind the name..then again I dont have to support it either.

Now that you mention them... they have reacted to this unfavourably. From the Advertiser 20/4/05...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adelaide City Soccer Club president Bob D'Ottavi confirmed yesterday the club still owned the rights to the name "The Force". He said he would be looking into the moves this week by the West Australian rugby team to adopt the same moniker.

A founding member of the National Soccer League in 1977, Adelaide City played as Adelaide Juventus and Adelaide City Zebras until the 1999-2000 season when it adopted the name Adelaide City to broaden its appeal.

D'Ottavi... what a w**ker.

It's high time they realised that teams should be associated with a geographical region. Not "western", and certainly not by their logo

most of the time (on the news bulletins and coverage), they seem to refer to the teams by their nicknames (eg Brumbies, Tahs, Reds), so I guess that would solve the problem somewhat.

I don't mind the new logo or name, Mind you i'm just happy WA have the side. Still trying to figure out if its best to talk a mate into getting a membership when they have no understanding of the game or to go alone

The Western Jets?????

Anyway whats with Clyde Rathbone coming to Perth for talks. Didnt he say he has no interest in joining the club a few months back. Im surprised to see him come over, he must of got a good offer or someone must of done something in Brumbies land to really ******** him off......

Could be a good deal he's been offered. Also the large expat SAfr. community could have 'lobbied' him. He'll no doubt be welcome at Stirling ;)

Maybe he also has contract talks with the Brumbies and he is pushing his price up?

Junior Pelesasa and Mark Henjak are certainties according to the Courier Mail up here.

could anyone tell me about Junior Pelesasa?whats he like and what position he plays?will/is he a good player and would he start?

Pelesasa has matured into a rampaging Inside Centre for the Reds. Been the one bright light in a dismal season. Can play on the wing too.

Will start.

Crap name. Disappointing because some of the names in Super 12(14) are pretty good, ie. the Crusaders and the Highlanders.

not a really good name I think could've done better but all the good animal names that sound cool have been taken and utilising names from other codes eg using a name like bulldogs, eels, roosters etc could confuse some people. i know some idiots who can't tell the difference between wests tigers and the richmond tigers

It must have taken them a whole 10 minutes to come up with such a stupid name.

At least our scenario is better than the 3 teams in almost one province, in South Africa.

They are going to weaken the already weak teams over there.

Force skins Blues.

Dont say it quickly.

I dont mind generic names. Eg Glory, Power etc. But why did it have to be 'Western" then have bloody toast colours.

Should be Perth force. At least the rest of the world will know where the team is from. Just like west coast. West of friggen what !
