To be honest I would have posted this, but thankfully the Internerds gods worked in my favour and bigfooty was so overloaded with traffic, I went back to watching the game...AND LO AND BEHOLD WE WON OUR FIRST LAST QUARTER AND THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKL YOU ANGRY INTER- NERDS!
 
Be happy we are actually winning now...ofcourse most of us are disappointed with the third quarter...but at the end of the day as ratten said, we brought the game home at the end of the day....9 pts up with armstrong having a shot on goal early in the last, and to finish 37 pt winners at subi, im happy!...Go Baggers

How can u seriously post a thread with the word "pathetic" in it about tonight? I know we were up by 48, but they were always gonna come at us after a shocking first half, we didnt play too badly in the 3rd...they lifted. the positive thing is for once we withstood the challenge and by the end of the match we only lost the second half by less than 2 goals. Was a great effort on the road imo, really dont see the point in any negativity after tonight. We're not a top 4 side so theres no point dwelling on the fact that we didnt crush them after a good first half (as much as i would have loved to!)

well said. could have easily lied down but we hung on and ended up with a real good win.
 
I wrote this post only as the result of frustration and anger. Because i am such a passionate supporter of this great club, tension got to me and forced me to take my anger out on bigfooty.
I honestly thought we were going to give the game up and lose.
It was fantastic though to see the boys bounce back and win quite comfortably in the end but if we had kept up our 2nd qtr form, you can't help but think that it would have been an absolute blow out.

the blue baggers had the game by the scruff of the neck at half time wce fc played well 3rd qtr well done to the lads good work to fight back judd is just a class act and i miss him at the eagles

I know what you mean and it was looking dodgy for a little while, but when the game was there to be won who was the guy that won the clearance and set up Gibbs' goal- The Judd Man. That's why we picked him up. Kennedy wasn't too bad- but Juddy, you've done it again.
 
i had to take a breather when armstrong lined for goal after the in the back free against us........... didnt come back inside until we were at least 20 ahead.. thought we were gona cough it up but the planets were aligned and the boys stood up ;)

Second half was shithouse... 53 points up early in the 3rd. Had $25 on the Blues by 40+ too... bleeding. We've got a long long long way to go.
 
The punters picked the Blueboys, but their inexperienced weakness woulda made the winning margin a bit tricky...

Once they solidify their rucks, it will be easier for the punters to bet on us!:thumbsu:
 
I think some of you should be happy that we actually had the steel and composure to run out the game, with all the momentum against us. OMGZ! We actually won a final quarter, especially when we were under the pump to maintain a lead! That makes up for our poor 3rd quarter, if not anything else.

We are definitely on the up; we would've fallen like a pack of cards last year under the same circumstances. Also consider the majority of the crowd was against us. Not only did we hold on to win, but we won reasonably well.

Without much input from Fevola in the 2nd half - this is the man who usually gets us back in those sort of situations, and he didn't. What does that tell you? It tells you that there is a more even performance across the park - some of our lesser lights are actually standing out.

Goodness, what were you expecting, a 60+ win? Interstate? Haha. Just be thankful that they held on and won comfortably.
 
Well done lads. In past years that kind of comeback would have made us freak out and butcher the ball in that last 10 minutes, but we stuck to our guns and went back to what got us so in front...the run and carry...we backed ourselves.

3. Carazzo (ball-magnet...disposal still not great but had a damaging effect when it mattered)
2. Stevens (showed his class in the last quarter and had one of his best games in the navy blue)
1. Simpson (broke the game open in the 2nd quarter then was instrumental in the last quarter...much underrated player)

Unlucky: Scotland, J.Kennedy, Cox, Gibbs

Might I say well done to the boys for going over to JK after the game and letting him know he's still a great mate of the club and that he's gonna be a star in years to come.

I called a choke in the game day thread and it was to an extent. We became defensive minded and frightened for a while there. Fortunately Stevens and Judd were in there fighting to turn it around. My call was to attack, to remember it was not the old powerful Eagles side. Next thing you know we came out of defense, some composure going forward, with Bower holding back on the handball until space was created, Simmo running hard and nailed the goal he had to nail. After that they switch went on again, they remembered they had the Eagles dominated in the first half by playing that way.

It was a narrowly averted choke, just a game of inches and belief.

I really, really thought we were going to drop this one halfway through the final quarter.

Though apparently we were the worst team out there on the day. :eek::o

i agree with ya Jarrod Waiteee:thumbsu: not matter what carlton do why oh why do Carlton Supporters bag their own club its bad enough for the oposition supporters
but from our own supportd its just not on if they don;t like it why do they even bother getting a membership least were percentage out of the top 8 go Geelong belt Brisbane and Hawthorn belt Collingwood :)

this week we get a rest :) and be rearing to to go against Brisbane in Melbourne :) we've got plenty of goal kickers if fevs playing or not good practice to see how we go :)
