Just on the game, to be honest, it was a very poor standard of football by both sides. If we played anyone other than Richmond, we would have lost (maybe Fremantle). I am stoked to get the win, as it will help build some confidence, but gee we have a lot to work on. Our skills are still terrible, some of our decisions were just plain dumb, and we don't know how to bury an opponent when we're in front. Our goalkicking is ordinary, with Newton and Miller missing some sitters (not to mention 4 shots hitting the post).

Like I said, I am happy to see us win, but we'd wanna improve if we are to win a couple more games.

Don't be a spoil sport. We weren't great but we attacked the footy and were as competitive as we have been in a long time. We lost our cleanest player who is a key part of our midfield early in the game and fought it out against a side who had absolutely everything to play for. We can't even win a game, with a man a down how the hell are we expected to bury a side!

As for the goalkicking issues of Miller and Juice, goalkicking is great but getting your hands on the ball is the first step and for once they did that today.

They should do mix tapes. I'll have the 1st and 2nd quarters cut with the second half of the Freo game.

In all honesty one I do want to get is when we murdered them by 121 in 1993.

I'm not meaning to be a spoil sport. I haven't seen a live win since 2007, so I am glad to take any win we can get. There were a lot of positives today, but I'm just trying to put the win in perspective. The skill execution was terrible by both teams in the first quarter. The second quarter we turned on it and played beautifully. Then Richmond outscored used 8.8 to 4.9 in the second half.

In saying that, we could easily have buried them at stages in the last quarter. We had a 28 point lead, all we needed was for one more goal and it would have put the nail in the coffin. As it turned out, we couldn't get that extra goal, and Richmond then cut the deficit to just 8 points.

We were competitive, played exciting footy at times, and won the match. So I'm rapt! But as I said, we have to keep things in perspective. Already I've seen threads on BF saying that Davey is in AA form, Meesen is a gun, Sylvia has arrived, etc...

Congrats guys.

Didn't get too see the game as I was at West Coast V Bulldogs.

But very glad you had a win.

Can you tell me how my man Jamie bennell went ?

Had a solid game in a back pocket... Didn't dominate or anything, but definately contributed... Made a great dash through the middle of the ground hitting a target inside forward 50... Think he's going to be a great player for us, Cheney had the biggest profile out of our round 1 debutants, but I have a feeling Jamie is going to be a very good player for us for a long time... Is guaranteed to play every week, at least until Matty Whelan is back, even then I think we'd have to fit him in...

Was a good effort seing we had Robo, Macca, Wheels, Wona, Wheatley, Jamar, Grimes out and green went down early.

i wasn't there for it (i hate that) but i'm still rapt with the win! Usually when i go it's alway a tight low-scoring tussle.......I'd love to go to a shoot out. :thumbsu:

Once we get Robbo, Wheels, Whealtey, Wona, Jamar and all the others back ito our side, 8 wins for the year is starting to look very good, possibly even more, or am i getting to exited. ;)

Shame about Green though.
