I was wondering what people think of our chances against Adelaide on the weekend?

The game style we are trying to play and the game style adelaide play every week are quite similar, so it'll be a good test for us if we can hold it together.

Adealaide seem to be going a bit unnoticed, they are a game and a lot of percentage clear in 4th, that as well as it being in adelaide has me thinking that the tanking advocates on here will be the happy ones come sunday afternoon.

Its a shame that we didnt get to play in melbourne this week, it would have at least increased the crowd numbers and we would have been a real chance. We've got a pretty tough draw over the next few weeks, until we play the tigers. Hopefully we can push the crows all the way.

I sincerely doubt we'll win but I'm hoping for a big effort from the boys and not let the Crows run away with it, and who knows, if luck is on our side we could snatch a win...Although I doubt such things:o

BTW Valenti was in the best for Sandy despite the spanking from Willy, get the lad into the team

I don't think we'll win but I think we can be competitive enough to stay within 3-4 goals all game, providing we play the long kicking gamestyle we used in the 2nd half against Freo.

Please Bails don't let the team get handball happy, Adelaide are a very good pressure side and they'll kill us.

I'm not holding out much hope for this game, although I'd like to see us have another crack and at least be in the game. Even in our better years we still struggled big time at Footy Park, but it's nice to go into this game with some confidence and a win under our belts.

Crows by 6 goals.

2 teams so I think it is 50/50

It will be really interesting to see whether our form in the second half against Freo was as good as it looked. With Whelan back hopefully we can go on with it and put in a really good performance against the Crows regardless of the result :thumbsu:

there is always a chance...

Quite obviously there's always a chance, the questions was what chance do you think we have

2 teams so I think it is 50/50

I beg to differ. 50/50 would insinuate that we have an equal chance of winning the game as Adelaide, but thats not so. Its not 2 teams with 22 identical, uninjured, in-form players playing at a neutral venue, so no, its not 50/50.

If you're going to be a smart@rse about something, at least get it right.

Not much chance, as long as we are competitive. Every time we play Adelaide it seems they have 2 extra players on the field thats how much they carve us up. I do not the 2nd half against freo was due to kicking long but more to the fact our first handball in a contested situation went to the advantage of another melbourne player that allowed him space and time to hit a target whether it be short or long.

The key is the first handball more often than not has to put the melbourne player in a better position and in the first 6 and half rounds that has not been happening.

I give us every chance to win. Our premiership attack is in wk2.

Yep = i'm bored.

Very good chance if we play in the same manner that we did in the second half against Freo, that kind of footy would push even Geelong too the limit in my opinion. The problem obviously is repeating it, I don't if we can but I'm hoping.

You have rocks in your head. The only reason we won against Freo was that McPharlin went off so that Dodd was played on Robbo. Freo had lost Grover and Hayden the week before so were severely undermanned defensively and had lost Carr from their midfield They had Drum plaiying on Miller and O'Brien on Woneamirri. Compare that trio with Rutten Johncock and Bock. Dream Team members You can throw in Bassett for good measure. They are together with Hawthorn one of the better drilled teams in the competition. I haven't even discussed their midfield in depth which is superior. We will be lucky to get within 6 goals. I hope I'm wrong

Agree with all the posters that have mentioned how much we struggle at AAMI even in our good years.

Crows by about 8 goals unfortunately, especially if we can't play at our best for the full 4 quarters.

Dean Bailey might just have some idea how to play AAMI, and before last week two of our best performances have been away from the G. I hope we turn the G back into the fortress again but winning a game away from Melbourne would be very nice.

Adelaide are one team the lack a superstar forward which is good because with most star forwards you can pencil them in for 5 goals before the match has started but whoever plays on Burton, Goodwin and Porplyzia will have to be very careful.

I hope Bate and Miller can back up because I think they were what straightened up the team, with those two at CHF it really gives you a target to kick to from half back instead of handballing it to a bloke about to be tackled. That combined with the belief and determination of the second half of last week puts us in the game. I'm also looking for a big one from Jonesy becuase I'm pretty sure they wont be stupid enough to let McLean run rampant like Freo did.

Based on current form you would have to expect a big percentage boost and continued improvement for the Dees. I am currently doing a stats major at University and based on the last three quarters that we have played we are due for a big score.

Last week we scored
2 goals in the 2nd quarter
5 goals in the 3rd quarter (3 goals more than in the 2nd)
9 goals in the 4th quarter (4 goals more than in the 3rd)

This data proves without any doubt what so ever that the difference in the amount of goals we score per quarter improves by 1 each quarter.

That being the case this week against the crows so called "tough defense" we are likely to score the following

14 goals in the 1st quarter (5 more than the 4th Q against Freo)
20 goals in the 2nd quarter (6 more than the 1st)
27 goals in the 3rd quarter (7 goals more than in the 2nd)
35 goals in the 4th quarter (8 goals more than in the 3rd)

That will giving the demons a total of 96 goals for the game. That should be enough to get the win. ;)

Crows by 38!!

Based on that logic you may be at university for some time ;)

Crows by 38 when you get 96 goals... awesome, the Crows could break 100 goals!! :thumbsu:
