I don't know what to think. Part of me says it's round 1 and you don't want to over-react to a bad bight at the office. The thing is, it was a really bad night at the office. If you can't fire up for round 1 in front of a full house, what is it going to take?

There's no doubt there is a major problem with culture at the club - too many players have been holding their positions in the team when they haven't deserved it, and this has been happening for a decade or more now. It is all very well to say don't over-react to one bad loss, but how can there not be changes in the side. Wallace needs to make the point that performances like that are unacceptable. Edwards, Schulz, McMahon must go - how many soft, sub-standard performances can these guys turn in before they end up at Coburg. They had no impact on the game. Sure Edwards is young and probably worth persisting with. Surely Schulz is running out of chances. McMahon is in the team as a possession-accumulating sweeper who can distribute the ball effectively - except he does none of those things.

For mine, this week I would like to see:
OUT - Schulz, Edwards, McMahon
IN - Hislop, Collins, Rance
Put Bowden back in defence where he belongs to cover McMahon - they do much the same thing anyway.
Thoughts anyone?

kick the ball instead of handball.
the overuse of the handball to a player only a metre away puts us under too much pressure and rushes disposal.
We need to have more kicks than handballs and also look to kick longer to our contested markers in Simmonds, Richo, Deledio, Riewoldt.
All good to run the ball we have leg speed but at the end of the day sometimes you just have to pump it in long and make a contest for the likes of Brown and Morton to crumb.
That's good contested football.

I'd also bring in Polo, Rance and maybe someone like a Hislop or Thomson.
Outs would be McMahon, Cousins, Raines.

Also it couldn't hurt to invest billions into some sort of chamber custom built that heals and strengthens Trent Cotchin.

Polo is the first player to come in. Hislop can wait. From what I've seen Hislop is all grunt, no brains ,no skill

Here is what i would like to see against the Cats!!!

B: Polo Thursfield McGuane

HB: Newman Moore Bowden

C Tambling Deledio Rance

HF White Reiwoldt Brown

F Morton Richo Edwards

Foll Simmonds Foley Tuck

Inc: Collins Thomson Browne Hislop

  • Ins: Collins, Hislop, Thomson, Polo
  • Outs: McMahon Shultz Raines(inj) Cousins(inj)
McMahon: Has had his fair chance in this side and still cant get it right, terry needs to give him a spray and give him time to reflect and asses were he is at with his contribution to the RFC.

Shultz: To be honest i dint notcie him thursday night, is nothing more than a there abouts player, is too inconsistant and im still not sure if he is a forward or a defender.

Thusday night our desposal was nothing less than pathetic, we wernt hard at the ball and our tackling was sub stadard. The inclusions of Hislop and thomson give us a couple of go-getters that arnt affraid to get there hands dirty and lay a few tackles, whilst polo and collins will provide effecient disposal off half back.

For me Raines is a huge loss, his abillity to break the lines and KICK the ball makes him a massive asset to our team.
Thoughts???

I agree guys like Thompson and Hislop would add some of the intensity we have been lacking.
The team need to be playing as if they fear being dropped!

Terry wallace is way too soft on the players.I dont want to single out anyone because there were many offenders on Thursday but i remember one time a Carlton player was running near the center and two Richmond players one of who was Tambling were just jogging along even though they could have easily caught him if they ran hard.
Its not good enough and they should have been dragged and told so.
He needs to enforce things like this constantly which i believe he doesnt because Tambling has been doing it for years.
