I suppose it would be amusing if it wasn't on the right track. Just had a read of the article and i thought it was pretty much sport on. Of course we're going to have to put up with all the talk of the way the club treated the weaker clubs years ago, but until we get our own backyard right, I am sure there will be plenty more stories along the same line.

The lpart of the article was the most critical part, you don't hear from the successful clubs boards, i don't even know the Eagles presidents name. When we don't hear anything from our board, we'll know that things are going well.

As many journo's on the radio and in the paper have said, Carlton fans want to hear about Murphy, Gibbs and co. We are well and truely over the board room infighting.

I can't dispute anything in the article - we well deserved the arrogant label - it's just who it's coming from. Does anyone remember the look of entitlement on their supporters' faces before the 99 PF?

...than being lectured on arrogance by an Essendon supporter?

The point you make is right, it is amusing to be lectured on arrogance by an Essendon supporter, but at the same time Connolly has pretty well summed up our standing in the football community. More importantly he has done it without the vindictiveness that his football editor invokes in every article she writes about our club. The onus is on the elected board to go about their business in a harmonious way to ensure they stay out of the media. They have been entrusted with pointing the Carlton Football Club in the right direction & maintaining that direction. Once the AGM is out of the way the board should be neither seen nor heard. The focus belongs to the players, not the backroom boys.

My sentiments exactly MS.
We've heard enough from Board over the past few months to last us at least a season or 2. Lets get on with the business at hand, and that is winning games of football.

 I fully agree with what you are saying.

It is now time for Elliot and all those other faceless men who were undermining Smorgan and the last Board to now shut up and stop whiteanting the Club at every opportunity. It is also time for these people to put their money where their mouths are or just disappear.

All we want to hear now is how well the team is going, how well the Board is doing in running the Club, getting us out of the poo and back on top where we belong. We have the opportunity with the list we are putting together so let's all make sure that we don't stuff it up.

Onwards and upwards for the mighty Blues!:thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Five months after that, the view has only been underscored by an off-season in which Carlton's "suits" have again dominated the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

This is my favourite part.......wrong reasons........more to that comment than Connolly knows.

Hear Hear.........Fraser Brown ..........looking right at you sunshine (and you're not alone).

For turning our post season into a circus with your "press conferences" after the coaching review blunder, you had Smorgons head for ransom............time to pay up sonny!
