its a pretty good game.

i forgot that you can only play 3 matches with the Demo version and i played my first 3 pre season games and now have to sim the rest! But anyway its a god game even though im up to about round 8 and im 15th with 2 wins and 5 losses. and even worse is Kane Johnson is out for 5 weeks with a broken jaw

Much appreciated.

tar 03 was/is just 30 bucks

there is a demo for that but ya cant find that on the site anymore

just go with tar 04, great game and much better

I have got the hang of coaching now.

Took me a while but I am now winning most of the time.
You REALLY have to pay attention to detail though.

Funny thing I have noticed is when I use the flood I kick ALOT of goals.

I was getting hammerd by Geelong 97-31 at half time so I decided to change my tactics and flood back to stop the bleeding.

Any way I won that match 157 to 141.

I also had another shoot out 198 -162 but I lost that one.

I've gone a lot better in my last three games. I beat the kangaroos by 38 points, lost to Port in 9 points after coming back from about 30 points down, and lost to Richmond by 29 points after being in front for most of the game.

The opposition aren't kicking big scores against me, which is good. I think you've got to be prepared to be more defensive.

Do you tag much?

I find it hard because most of the Saints Midfeilders have a rateing of like 1-5 for tagging.

S Baker has a rating of 65 and he does a good job he keept S West to 13 possesions.

I keep getting an error at the end of season.
It says "error 55 file not found". I sometimes get it as well when the friday paper is meant to come up.
WTF? I can't even get to the trades or anything! FFS.

Some of the trades are dodgy. Matthew Davis for Jason Johnson, Cameron Bruce traded to Adelaide for Nathan Bassett before being ontraded to Carlton for Simon Wiggins, Steve Johnson for Barry Hall, Mark Johnson for pick 30, and Corey Jones for pick 9 were some of the more 'interesting' trades to eventuate.

I keep having to release Buckley, Licuria and Clement to free up cash...

For those interested as to whether individual training pays off:

I set the following for Brayden Shaw:

Skill Drills: 50
Speed Excercises: 15
Aerobic/Endurance: 15
Weights: 5
Goal Kicking: 4
Post Match Recovery: 5
Pre Match Planning: 5
Ruck Work: 0
Psychology Sessions: 1

Over the course of the season...

Speed +1
Strength +1
Take Aways +1
Offence +1
Defence +1
Marking -1
Spoiling -1

i did email them

they said that they had no imediatte plans but may release a patch to add/update the players

but the dissapointing thing is they said no players can be added with the player editor

never the less i should receive my email saying they have my order in a few days :)

Thanks mate, I was quite interested in that.

Did Brayden Shaw have a nonzero improvement rating? Did his overall rating increase?

It's interesting that marking and spoiling went down yet strength went up. Perhaps ruck training influences a player's marking and spoiling attributes.

just downloaded the demo.

looks very good. better than 2004 because of all the nifty little features.

Newspapers feature is a good step but really doesn't add all that much to the game.

Reserves competition and match ratings are good.

all the extra tactics are gold, and the match day screen is nice and simple.

Still has the problem (not as bad as 2003) where opposition coaches don't make many team changes outside of injuries or suspensions, and the same guys generally perform week in week out. In the few seasons i've played usually 20+ guys kick 50 or more goals.

Not a major problem.

Off Season is solid. Not much change from last year. Somewhat suprisingly i don't like the idea of the "Recruitement Ranking". I think it should be up to you as to who you wanna draft rather than having it given to you on a plate. I was really good at picking the draft in the 2003 version. Could usually get 15 of the top 20.

overall looks solid and i'll be buying the full version to test it out. not for a few days though.

further to that.

the introudction of training is an awesome idea and he has it pretty well set out.

there should however, be training injuries and reserve team injuries (could actually be the latter. can't say i noticed).

cant wait till i get my licence key sent 2 me

yea not as bad as in the 2003 version, but it is still evident.

from what i can see worth the 30 bucks. hopefully the genre develops because as good as games like Champ Manager are, i just don't get into because i'm not a soccer fan.

Its interesting because a couple of rookie listed players have indeed been included in the game. E.g. Dylan Pfitzner of the Saints. Its hard to work out.

Yeah thats like Adam Bentick is there for Carlton, but he is called Andrew Bentick. The rookie list thing is keeping me from buying it. If they expect you to pay they gotta be professional. Also seen some strange retirments, such as Lappin and French at 29 after being named All Australians.

Has anyone worked out a way to edit the data?

It's stored in:

C:\Program Files\Stratagem Sports\Total Aussie Rules 2003\Origin

I was thinking it'd be good to add career games/goals, but I can't really find the appropriate program to edit it.
