If the Dogs were to trade Brown to Richmond for picks 6 & 21 and Gilbee to Sydney for pick 31

Sydney trade S. Stevens to Freo for pick 27

J. Longmuir and Croad to the Dogs for picks 4 & 19

Logic
S. Stevens (who's from Perth) can't get a game in front of Hall, Goodes and O'Laughlin.

J. Longmuir is Freo's 4th best tall behind Pavlich, Polak and McPharlin and while he is better than Stevens, Stevens could adequately do his job. Freo could use pick 4 on Farren Ray or Kepler Bradley.

dont agree, I think we wont participate much in the trade this year, got a good foundation for the future, just need to stabalise it. There is need to rock the boat yet.

And Scott Stevens wouldn't get a game at Freo either.

If we were going to trade #27, it would be for a midfielder.

And no, I wouldn't do the Longmuir trade. Our club is at a certain stage in development and I don't see the point in going backwards and starting the development of youngsters again.

Don't know what we'd do with Stevens, he's a small forward and we've got enough of those.

And the other trade I would think about for a long time. If it was picks 1 & 19, or the Dogs were going to pay all of Croad's salary, i'd take it.

A 194cm small forward?

Longmuir was taken with pick 2 and you guys couldn't be happy with that result.

A top 4 pick should get you a Pavlich or a Polak and Longmuir isn't anywhere near that class.

Unfortunately, he would be the no. 1 KP at the Bulldogs when Grant retires while he is only the 4th KP at Freo. There is no doubt he is not worth anything like pick 4 but we have the picks and are desperate for young, big guys - desperate, but not completely deluded enough to offer pick 1.

Still, pick 4 would get you Farren Ray.

Stevens 194cm? You fair dinkum? I had him in the 180-185cm range based on how he looks out on the field.

Speaking personally, I certainly don't judge Longmuir based on the 2nd half of this season when he played like a crab, simply because he missed most of the pre-season with a knee injury. With a full pre-season this year we should see what he can do, because we know he can certainly play. Just ask any Melbourne fan who saw him utterly destroy them in one half of football.

He's the sort of player that if we traded he would come back to bite us on the arse. And we know all about those sort of trades at Freo. ;)

We should sit on our current sqaud. Like someone else said, we've got a good foundation for the future and we should build on that. I know it's nigh on impossible, but we've just got to hope that Keppler or Farren Ray end up like Medhurst and the other clubs make the mistake of ignoring quality players so we can pick them up with our later draft picks.

I'm not sure #4 would even get us Ray after draft camp.

And no to both of those trades. Stevens, wouldn't crack our side either, not what we need.

Come back next year for J-Lo and Croad. We will either be laughing at you or give 'em away.
