My town is in the metropolitan area of Hamburg, and I like that while it isn't in Hamburg,I can get to the central areas quickly, and at the same time I have got the countryside just a throw of the stick away. . It's neat :).
Not sure I would actually like to live really far out in the sticks. it is just fine here.

I dont live there but Templestowe is in a good location. Its not too far from the Northern Suburbs and a good distance from the city. From Google maps by car it takes about 11 minutes to get from Templestowe to Heidelberg. From Templestowe to the City by car about 28 minutes.

I live in an area of Vancouver called Port Moody. I love it and I'm very happy that we just bought our first home here.

It's at the end of the Burrard Inlet so we are surrounded by water and snow-capped mountains. The area has everything within walking distance. Shops, pubs, train station etc. We also have some really good restaurants and even a liquor store that deliever for free.

A few minutes walk away is a massive area of parkland with dense forrest and walking trails around the water. It is a natural salmon run and you often see bald eagles or bears. All of this but it's still just a 25 minute commute to downtown Vancouver.

It's also a farly young area and we've managed to make a great group of friends which always helps.

I feel blessed. As there is a beach just a walk away.5 Doors down is Safeway and round the corner Coles. And about 10 doors down is a great Train station and all the busses come into a large termanal and go out goodnes Knows all over Melbourne. The transport hub where i am. Its southern suburbs but the trains and busses get you ANY DAM where.:)

Hve three primary schools within walking distance, one high school, and the local shops.

20 min drive to the city, 2 bigger shopping centres 5-10 min drive, 15 min drive to Highpoint.

Cab ride to the city is about $50 though, bit of a drawback.

Close to public transport, shopping centres, freeway entrance and walking distance to my local sporting club.

Downside is the traffic near the train station is unbearable and makes go longer routes rather then go throw the main street in my suburb.

Also my street has changed a lot in population. More units and bigger houses blocking our sun. Also more people who either have no involvement in street or a pain in the arse...

Close to the beach, the city, major shopping schools and public transport - and importantly less than a $20 cab fare from anywhere I frequent

-can walk from my place into the city
-live 200 m from one of the best pubs in adelaide
-close to resturants, cafes, parklands etc
-takes me 20 mins to drive to work

i love living in north adelaide
