what point is there i having a pick in the PSD? why bother turning down lances demands and then wasting your PSD pick on meeting them later and having a disgruntled player on your hands?
Lance has not made any demands. There are no contract talks. The club will wait until this week is over and see what Lance wants to do. What other offers comes his way and if he thinks a new club is the way to go.
He is disgruntled. He is playing his best football in 5 years right now and is fit and injury free. We have a few marking targets up forward and he is playing back. He might prefer to play forward and get better delivery. It is up to him.
I think you see it as a favour for your club to take Lance of our hands. Which is okay to think but he is the least of our problems. If you dont do a good job of convincing Lance and Carlton that he should be at the Dogs then he wont be coming there.
Pick 26 and fringe players such as Power who you might very well delist anyway is not going to get it done. Birss might but unlikely. Richmond and Melb are also interested. If Birss and pick 26 is the very best offer for Lance from a club then I would be extremely surprised.
Remember Eade is safe in his job but other coaches might not be and look to get a player like Lance to improve there chances of keeping there job.
Clubs do funny things when under pressure and coterie groups baying for blood and changes.
