what do you want from 2016?

An attractive gameplan. Even crap sides like carlton play a better brand of footy than us. Not sure its because i am very passionate about the swans but when i watch ither clubs ( even the shit ones) i can generally see what they are at least trying to achieve. Watching us is like watching an u/12s game. We seem to make it up as we go along.

Id also like to see us develop some killer instinct. We only ever do enough to win. I want to decimate sides. It makes you a much more forbiddable opponent when you humiliate teams. You have the game half won when the opposition are expecting to lose

I'd like to see the umpires be a little more creative when they cheat us out of a game.
For example, at the MCG, the free kick count will be lopsided - we expect to be cheated there.
But, in Sydney, at least make a pretence that you're not trying to defraud the Swans.
A 19-6 free kick count against us in the second half of a prelim was just too obvious.

Serious answer

- kenny williams expelled from being around the players and doing the song, get the ding dong off tv

- buddy to play no more than 18 games in the regular season, manage him better

- rotation of mids, dont be afraid to give kennedy a week off

- reward reserves form, pick those that deserve it, drop people who dont deserve a spot

- horse to speak in something other than boring cliches

- the club to do a better job promoting the reserves, if Grimlock goes I would have very little access to information

Without naming the obvious like undefeated premiers, what do you want to see from the club next year.

1. Johnson to play 1 reserves game

2. Allir and xr given a few games to get a taste of senior foott while richards is managed into the finals

3. Buddy back to being buddy

4. Sinclair to play number 1 ruck and tippo to spend majority of time deep forward

5. Heeney to push into the middle. Oh and isaac be gentle, we dont want you taking years off of your career with your kamikaze style

6. Rohan to establish himself into a role whether it be forward or back.

7. Jones to play all year and cement his spot in the lineup

8. Mills to play 12-15 games

9. More attacking gamestyle. Lets push hard and SMART. Attack at all costs however that doesnt mean bomb the ball forward every opportunity. I want the swans to be known as fast and methodical this year

10. Parker to sign long term
All of the above.

Yes, this X 100.

I got the impression this year when we won that as the players walked off the field they were going to each other "well, what ho, that was a bally stroke of luck eh what?" Practically twiddling their moustaches as they went.

While we have been a very, very good side for the most part of the decade, i dont think we have ever really intimidated opposition. Most games i reckon the opposition have believed they are a chance to beat us

Pretty sure bottom 6 clubs have feared us in recent years. But I agree that not too many teams there and about the 8 would have despaired playing us as opposed to say Geelong or Hawthorn at their peak.

Then again we're no Geelong or Hawthorn at their peak either.

I dont know, we were beaten by gws and thumped by the demons to the tune of 70 odd points a few years back

I want to see us undeafeated at home next season. ANZ is entirely possible with the Pies being the only worry. The SCG games will be interesting as we play Hawthorn, Bulldogs, West Coast, Richmond and Kangaroos along with Port but I want teams to dread playing us in Sydney. Especially at the SCG.

I feel like we were pretty intimidating to most teams in 05-06, but maybe I'm sentimentalising.

They knew they had a physical contest at least. No sentiment in that remembrance.

2015 ended up being a re-building year (although that obviously wasn't the intention at the start) with us having five guys 22 or younger in the 21 for our last final and another two, Jones & Jack, being the next choices. From memory Hawthorn had one and the Perth sides both had two. The year was disappointing but getting games into the younger guys whilst still playing finals will be valuable in the future.

2016 should be more of the same. We won't win the flag so the goal should be to get us into the best position to win it in 2017. That means getting more games into younger guys whilst still hopefully at least challenging for the top four. Hopefully that will see guys like Heeney, Jones & perhaps Jack really contributing.

Basically if we can get three or more of that group to become quality players and have a couple of guys from the reserves or Mills fill their spots then we will be looking good in two years.

I'd like a year. Just one. Of Magpie & Hawthorn presidents shutting up on matters concerning my club.

Id like to see a unicorn

Top 4 finish.

Tippett and Sinclair to split their time 50/50 in the ruck

George Hewett and Lewis Mellican to prove their AFL quality

AJ playing again

Two first round picks next year

and... very strategic delistings and retirements at the end of the year

I want to see some mongrel. A tough hard bloods side that never says die & never gives up.

I can't wait for Kirky to get stuck into them!!! They need to know they have the ability to be better than they think they are. That includes guys like JPK & Buddy, they can be better, it's all a matter of focus & a healthy connection between the mental/emotional/physical strengths/weaknesses. Ability is dynamic & static, even those at the very top can often push themselves further if they put in the hard yards & know themselves better.

Following on from that: Make sure the new young blokes walk into the right enviroment & have the right attitude. Noone gets a game "just because". The pressure for spots is real & depth isn't just for "management"... Look at our best improved over the years, they are usually blokes fighting for their spots.

I'd love to see AJ back firing this yr. If anyone deserves our accolades for courage & commitment it's that young man. Love to see him work his way back to NEAFL at the very least in 2016.

Excited to see the boys again in 2016. New & old. Sinkers, Mills particularly. Also the development of Heenz, Jones. And the return to some good form for guys like Jack, Bud & Tippo who've struggled recently. Hopefully Teddy can hold on tight & our defence develops an Alir or Xav in his place. How fitting would it be to see Xav take his spot in 2017?
