What happened to Geelong being (in thier words) "aggresive" duribg the trade period 3 trades isn't what i would call aggresive something like carlton is but getting rid of a player that no-one wanted and a couple of draft picks is far from aggresive!!!!!!1

Fair enough criticism too.

As the saying goes, "nothing ventured, nothing gained". And Geelong was not willing to really back themselves by venturing anything. I think this failure can be laid squarely on the shoulders of Gary Davidson (and by implication his boss, Brian Cook). He is responsible for player welfare, contracts, recruiting etc and essentially he wasn't able to land us a big fish. If you look at how other clubs ran things, for example Richmond flying Nathan Brown over the Mornington Peninsula to show him how he can use his income as investment to set himself up for life, then you can say that Geelong's effort was completely amateur.
