Hmmm I wasn't aware it was about winning and losing. I made a concession out of consideration to Rory and spookism not your tenuous line of reasoning that made no impression on me at all.

I didn't think it was about winning and losing either, that was a comment on the Yalta conference, and who wouldn't want to photoshop themselves as the winner.

Interestingly, Stalin spoke strongly of Polish independence at the Yalta conference, but Churchill didn't believe his intentions, which turned out to be accurate as a communist regime was instituted in Poland, even thought it wasn't until after Stalin's death that the Warsaw Pact was formed, sealing the deal.

Just kidding with that previous comment. You made some very good points and argued them spiritedly and well as usual.

In summary the actions I took weren't about censorship and I'm happy to reach a conclusion that seems to have satisfied those willing to engage the discussion.

In summary, I just want to clarify that this wasn't intended as a personal attack; you do a good job here and even if you don't think you made a mistake, everyone makes mistakes. Its cool.

But in an open discussion, I do think it is important not to be over-vigilant for PC reasons. There is a lot of stuff that can patrol the borders of offence that goes on at this board (Expect To Win's transcripts for one), and I'd really hate to see that stuff disappear (or get disappeared).

Edit: That said, delete and ban all the Crows supporters you want.

I never took it personally, just thought it was a good spirited debate that sometimes needs to be had.

And don't worry I know I make mistakes but I just don't let on when .

The board runs well, I think we are a tolerant group and it's not the mods intent to over-police, but to work within the BF rules.

Way late to this thread, not really interested in reading the last 3 pages... so here is my take if you are interested.

I laughed at that picture. Definitely not in poor taste, it happened 10 years ago to america and while if someone's mate/father/son/mother/acquaintance had died yes they might find it offensive. To me though there are much more offensive things said on this board, and any other on bigfooty that go unerr-ed at and a joke is a joke is a joke. If it is witty or funny I will appreciate it, yes some things will offend me (irish being dumb jokes, usually/only) but only if i feel it is an attack on the subject.

The picture was definitely not an attack on those who died in the twin-towers, nor is it understating what happened to me. Therefore it isn't a personal attack, and should not be taken offensively IMOO.

Of course each to their own, just giving my two cents as a poster on this board
