We won this year because we had the depth to cover our many injuries. Each player who came in, knew what their role was, and did what was asked of them.
My question is this: If you were bought into the Hawthorn Football club, what would your role be, what talent could you bring to the table?

I'd like to think my role would be special forecaster. I could tell the players to hold off on training until the storm has passed, no chance of being struck by lightning. I could model in influence of winds inside the grounds so it well help with more accurate goal kicking.

That said, I'd probably just get a gig licking stamps... haha

What about you?

Clarko just tells me to run my arse up and down the wing until my opponents get shit tired. Then we crank everything up in the second half and cruise to an easy win coz no one on the opposition can run any more. Shirty at all the BF posters who haven't acknowledged this after this year's Grand Final win. Do I have to pull out the double cobra pic from the 2013 Grand Final again??

Probably in the IT department and when I can, try to catch Wrighty when I pass by him in the hall and suggest who to get to our club. Eventually he just ignores me and runs to his car.

I would be our head of international expansion. I would talk big about opportunities in China and India, take a few fully funded trips (business class) overseas....

I may at some point meet someone with a similar job to me in another country, AND sign an MOU with them.

The MOU would of course be baseless, although it would allow the executive to justify my role and also be beneficial for my career.

We need more overseas scouting, I'll take on South America.

I'll go with the team when they go out on the turps-someone needs to supervise...yes....supervise....

I could pinch hit in the sales and marketing team.

But i'd be the best ball getter in training and warm ups before the game!

I'd probably be able to make a wry observation now and then, the occasional non-sequitur perhaps. Not really sure how it would help team balance, to be honest.

I'm good at predictions using hindsight so I could assist with opposition analysis the week leading into the game. Or I could give Wrighty feedback on recruitment selection 2-4 yrs after the Player has been selected - kind of a verification & audit role I guess :-)

Sitting in the crowd drowning out the opposition supporters. High fiving other Hawks in the crowd and just generally pointing out how good we are to opposition supporters.

Playing role: Chief finger-pointerer - Hodgey needs a break from this. Gotta be worth $200K p.a.
Non-playing role: I could sit on the bench and hand the phone to Monkey.

I have actually considered doing this for the hawks, My role would be statiscal analysis particularly in multivariate analysis. For example how much does each player contribute to the actual score while they are on the field. I might be prsence they don't actually have to touch the ball. I can calculate this.

But my field of research is chemistry I have a PhD in chemistry and a university medal. (I'm not sure the hawks would want me to use this particular skill)
