Midfield or the permant small forward that we desperately need.???

I still think that we should have given him more time in the midfiueld during last season. But now with the recruits in the off season where will he play???????

I would think that he will be part of the midfield rotation (playing more mins in the gutls in later years) with a resting small forward role.

Must be played in the middle! Could you just imagine the fireworks if he got his hand on the ball 20 - 30 times a game!

Resting?

Agree on mid-field, but not sure about having players rest up forward. Being a small crumbing forward requires a different set of skills, and a different mind set. In particular, you need to be able to anticiapte the movement of the ball, the movement of your forwards and be prepared to only have 3 or 4 real opportunities for the day (assuming you were posted there all day).

IMHO one of the reasons that many players don't succeed as a crumbing forward is that they treat it as a rest. (And those who are specialist forwards often fail because they get lazy.)

Perhaps rotate midfield, bench and forward area (for certain players).

Agree so long as the others (and himself) know what he going to do with it !!!

while im sure rodan is in the mix for the midfield just remember he is only 19 and has a longggggggggggggggg career ahead of him.no need to pound him into the ground at this early stage.
this year use him mainly as a crumbing fwd with krakour and every now and again have a run on the ball a bit similar to last year but a bit more time when its the right time.

cheers!

if Rodan isn't the stand out choice for no 1 rover...who is ?

Personally I wont Rodan in the Middle. 75% of the time. But with the inclusions over the off season might change the line of thinking with rodans developement. Last year with the lack of depth in the middle he was not given enough time so I doubt he will get more time this year. Sad but true.

anyone ? ANYONE ?? Exactly ! Rodan is the obvious , the definitive, stand out choice for no 1 rover at Richmond this year.

Only opposition ? Chaffey, King, Dragga...maybe Krak'r.

Definitely a midfield role. My only questin mark my be his stamina but upon thinking more about that didn't he run the best 3000m time in the draft camp the year he was drafted?
