The Ellen Show!

I'm a captive audience at the Monash Infusion Centre and its on the TV

Can't believe people choose to watch this crap
I visit mum at lunch sometimes and this is in the background, from what I can gather it's a show of middle class women screaming as loud as they can for an hour long.

A lot of screaming women sums it up

My suspicion is that it was the kids and that the parents had gone out. But still, not good enough.

We've had that going on for months now too. The problem was, both the parents and teenagers had music up and people over making noise at different times of the day/night/week. I lost count of the times we called the cops. Just incredibly inconsiderate.

To then see the moving truck back into their driveway last week was an early Christmas present, to say the least!

I had something like this happen a few months ago. During school holidays single mother has her two mid teens (I guess) stay with her. It's a weeknight, she goes out and they proceed to have half a dozen mates around and get stuck into the grog. Pretty soon there's screaming and yelling (think they were playing some kind of console game as there'd be silence followed by periods of ridiculously ott screaming and yelling). Anyway it gets to about 11.30pm and we're in bed trying to sleep and they're out in the backyard screaming and yelling (clearly pretty tanked by now) and one of them is banging on the fence. So I get up and go out there and I can see/hear one of my other neighbours in their backyard listening but not doing anything. I walk up to the back fence just as this little shit is jumping on it and hanging off it like he's about to jump over. I stick my head over the fence and he absolutely shits himself, falls backwards onto the ground and starts apologising. I yell out 'Excuse me. Would you SHUT THE **** UP?! Where do you think you are??'. Not one of them would even make eye contact with me and they just all slowly shuffled back inside the house and shut the door - at which point someone yells something back at me which I couldn't make out. Felt good but ffs they have neighbours on 4 sides and they're carrying on like that on a weeknight. What do they expect??

A childcare centre in Corrimal NSW has given every child a present from Santa in their Christmas breakup all bar one child who has ADHD.
The reason behind this was that he was naughty and deserved nothing.

I thought childcare centres were about inclusion.

As a parent I would have been so very hurt and angry how do you explain this to a confused and crying 5yo.

That is disgraceful.

Jeez that is awful. That will do absolutely nothing to help his behaviour either.

Also, this shows how in touch I am with news given I learned about this here when Corrimal is like a 5 minute drive away :D

I have a vested interest in putting the story out there my aunt is the child's grandmother. She rang my mum in tears yesterday as she was so upset at what had happened.

That's disgusting and I wouldn't just get into the teacher/staff about it. I'd be going through the whole management system and then to ACECQA as well. And I don't consider that an overreaction either. It's discrimination and it goes against the principles of ECE as described in the national quality framework.

Clockwatching on the last day of work.

Alex Perry's perpetual sunglasses on his head.

Went to spec savers to get some glasses. Saw some I liked. Saw they were Alex Perry. Picked new pair.

Power outages.

Big storm has knocked out power to 125000 homes here. Ours went out at 2am, currently estimated returning at 8pm. Thankfully the mother in law and sis in law had plenty of room in their freezer for us to borrow.

We had 74mm at home in about 2.5 hours with 70kph winds, coming from the north east which is the opposite to usual. It sounded like a locamotive was coming through the bedroom windows, not much sleep was had.

It's coming this way as well. I'm in the Mallee at the moment and the weather is crazy! No power outages (yet) but there's wind and heat and lightning activity – the perfect recipe for bushfires...
