So Richmond 105 000 members v Collingwood 85 000 members play each other once at the MCG and the other time its at Marvel or down at Geelong / Ballarat/ type of thing.

I think they were trying to please everyone this year. Put Richmond under the pump early and also give sides a taste of big time finals atmosphere at the G before the finals.
Even Brisbane got to play in front of 77,000 at the G before finals.
West Coast, GWS they were all there.

Final Sides whinge when they say the last game we played at the G was round 3 against Carlton etc.

- No Pre Finals Bye, kills all momentum teams have earned going into finals
- 1 mid season bye, get rid of the three 6 game rounds
- Club decides where they want to play all 11 home games
- Play each team once + Rivalry Round in final round, 18 Round Season
- Floating Fixture for last 5 rounds, removes possibility of R22 Dees v Swans Friday night match like this year
- Add a Wildcard Round week before finals where 7 v 10 and 8 v 9 play to fill the last 2 finals spots
- From 2021 scrap the China game, play international exhibition games only in pre-season. eg. New Zealand, India
- Finalists earn at least 1 home Friday night game for next season
- At least 10 traditional Saturday 1:45pm games at the MCG
- Only 1 Saturday night game, would get more of an audience
- Regular Round: 1 Thursday Night, 1 Friday Night, 2 Saturday Arvo, 1 Saturday Twilight, 1 Saturday Night, 2 Sunday Arvo, 1 Sunday Twilight
- Big Freeze game expands to Big Freeze round, clubs potentially all have big freeze guernseys?

34 is simply impossible...The AFL will go to 20 teams eventually and just have a 19 round season.....The fixture will never be fair with 18 teams using a fixture designed for a 12 team competition, what that has to do with what team i support i'll never know?.

and why is 34 games impossible? It simply isn't. A longer season would mean a change to how players are managed in game and throughout the season. Extend the interchange or add subs.
It's all possible and manageable if the afl want a balanced draw where everyone plays everyone else home and away.

How about the fact that we went 9-6 in the first 16 rounds with only 6 games at the G, with 4 against co-tenants and two against the cats and blues who play there plenty. All while missing most of our A-grade talent. We then earned our two final games at the G by winning away in the qual final.

Our 7 game MCG run wouldn’t of mattered if we hadn’t played out of skins earlier in the year and we absolutely earned the right to top 4 and what came after.

Once everyone is given a week off pre finals, all teams still in it are well over any travel and ready to go.

All this chat about our 7 game end of year run needs to be called out once and for all for what it is. Pure, premium grade salt of the finest quality.

Deal with it, the tigs were faaaar too good in 2019.

They claimed equalisation was a priority. Then put the exact opposite into practice.

Hmmm interesting. Carlton hosts Fremantle at Marvel Stadium round 8 of the AFLW - I wonder if this is also a curtain raiser like the GWS-Geelong match the previous week. That coincides with round two of the AFL so good chance it is. Otherwise why wouldn't they just play it at Ikon Park?
