I have to be careful what I write 'cos I'm still pretty pi$$ed off.
Okay(breathing deeply) what the hell is going on?
Ian Perrie has the best forward coach going around and continues to kick "tumblepunts".
Gallagher....how does this guy get a game????
Mattner......well just what the hell basically.
Why was John(o(k on the bench in the last quarter?
Why did Collingwood get so many of their goals running into an open unmanned goal square......where were our defenders???

AAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH I just don't understand???????

Why did Ladhams try and play the ball instead of bottle it up just before the ball was lobbed into Tarrant?

They say the game is played over 120 minutes but as far as circumstances turn out as they happen Ladhams f**ked up as good as anyone.

Ladhams also made the intriguing move of not allowing one of Buckley's kicks late in the match to travel out of bounds on the full, instead getting hands on it. He could've bumped out his opponent (Holland?) and would've gained valuable possession.

He needs exsesive goalkicking practice and he just drops too many easy marks

Time to go back to SANFL and give Doughty a go.

Mattner......well just what the hell basically.

Got cleaned up by Woewodin. Needs a big kick up the clacker. He needs to play much tighter on his man.

Why was John(o(k on the bench in the last quarter?

Because he made too many errors tonight. Probably his worst game so far this year.

Thanks Stiffy.I feel a "little" better now.
I thought it was just me.
The Mattner 'thing' had me perplexed all night.I counted at least three goals that were direct results of bad checking.
Perrie 'could' be just about anything but 'couldbee's' (?) don't win matches.
Haven't been keeping an eye on Doughty's form in the SANFL but I reckon he's worth a shot.

Ladhams did make a crucial error late in the game but two brilliant goals has to put ahead of a few!!!!

We could go through a whole list of players who have made crutial mistakes at times:

Ladhams
Mattner
Hart
Bassett
Stiffy
McLeod
Clarke etc...

But the fact of the matter is that we had more than enough chances to win this game and win it comfortably. Lack of concentration and lack of coaching moves is what killed us in the end. We played right into Collingwoods hands and we kept doing it over and over again especially in stopages. We got spanked in the clearences with our ruckman dominating.

Take nothing away from Collingwood, they played with spirit and in the end deserved the victory.

I thought Stiffy played reasonably well when he was on. Not sure how Gallagher could be justified in staying on, when Stiffy was on the bench

WHY THE HELL DOES IT TAKE GARY AYRES SO LONG TO MAKE ANY MOVES??? :(

Well I must be blind!! If John**** didn't play twice as well as Gallagher when he was on then Anthony Rocca is a very handsome man!!!

Ayres's coaching performance tonight was a joke. A total lack of initiatives and done in slow motion!!

Yeah. And of all the coaches to do it against.

Having flashbacks to the Melbourne game in 2001
If you get the lead late in the game - hit the boundary and/or flood - why not? Everyone else does!

It WAS a flashback to that Melbourne game when once again we didn't put men back and clog it when the game was in our hands to control.

The Pies started nearly every bounce with at least 7 men in our forward lines and at times there were only 3 to 4 forwards in their's. When we had control of the ball they flooded back constantly. It's exactly the same tactics that Port beat us with, and the Roos tried to do last week. The better sides will get us with it even if they aren't playing as well in the field play because it's so hard for us to score in a crowded forward line, and much easier for them with their open forward line.

I am at a loss and total despair why we don't do it!!

It's rather ironic that Ladhams was the hero in our last down-to-the-wire finish. (wizard cup v Port)

He played better than Gallagher but he didn't exactly cover himself in glory. There was a period in 3rd when Stiffy made 4 consecutive errors ina space of 2 minutes.

Skill errors cost us plenty

Simple chest marks by VERY experienced senior players Carey dropped 4 or 5 all within the 50.
Goodwin made an absolute botch up of one which resulted in a turnover, Perrie dropped about 3, and missed three not difficult shots at goal......the end over end mongrel was simple skill error execution; the other in the goal square when he could only manage a point was case of not taking his opponents body out of the play & laying foot on the ball. He tried to heave it when all it required was a deft touch to nudge it over the line......

The other a set shot on his left leg when he tried to improve the angle only required walking up to the mark & kicking through the line of the ball .He actually made it worse for himself by going back too far off the mark .

You really do wonder whether he will ever GET it........he's not an instinctive player with any semblence of ball skills...so we a faced with another 40 games all played with the same lack of skill & ability & the same mistakes costing goals & games.

Name me a club that would beat down your door to pick him up !

A quick comment on Gallagher.....I cannot see what this bloke offers that Doughtey hasn't provided previously & in spades. He's too cute with the look away handballs, gives opponents a look at the ball like a little smartarse lair .........great in the amatuers, but surely coaches have told him to stop it at AFC.....or maybe not because he still does it.........& he 's a bloody poor kick & the back turn straight into opponents drives me to drink..... an over rated DUD but somebody on the Match committee seems to love him.............
