I am hoping for two midfielders and a small to medium forward or a midfielder and two small to medium forwards with our picks 18-19-21

Perhaps a tall forward with pick 40 something

KPP please. We need a succession plan for Pav and McPharlin. We have Ruck stocks, we have a few midfielders (hoping Morabito can get his body right). But we have nothing standing in line behind Pav and Luke.

If either of them go down for extended periods we are stuffed.

What about Mayne he was actually a very decent player this year I expect him to get better.

Mayne is a good 2nd or 3rd tall, but not really a KPF. He is a great kick, but he's not really tall enough to contest the high balls.

I really rate Mayne, but I'm not sure he's someone you could build a forwardline around.

Essendon - probably go just about best available. The only thing i cant see us picking with JoeD being at 10 and us retaining Gumby is probably a tall forward.

I also think the club is in need of a fan favourite (Simpson, Tipungwuti ect). I think we will also try take advantage of the depth of midfield in this draft. Maybe a decent halfback flank user, creating type aswell. We will also need to target a ruck at some point maybe Stephensen, Seaby as mature types in the rookie draft, Fort as more of a younger type or Hannath.

Pick 35 - best available
Broomhead, J.Simpson, Hrovat, Graham, Atkins, Towers

Pick 52/55 - HBF, genuine midfielder, fan favourite
Colquohn (possible HBF user/creater), Ballard (midfielder), Tipungwuti (fan favourite), Towers

Pick 69 - Ruck
Fort (Ruck)

We look like we may only have the one live pick at 16. The general consensus on the Geelong board is that we will take the next best midfielder - personally I'd like Garlett if he was available, but Vlastuin and Lonergan have also been mentioned by other posters. If Stringer happened to fall due to injury concerns he may be snapped up as would Menzel if he fell for similar reasons. Can't see either happening though.

North will take one of the half forwards/mids on offer at #15 imo.

Garlett/Kennedy/Menzel.

I'd say a ruckman and a small defender will be taken with the remaining picks.

JD
inside mid
Ruck
Key position player
and if we go this deep forward pocket/ pure x-factor player

Hopefully one or two of the decent looking QLD blokes.

Probably best available at 8, but will def be looking at KPPs I'd reckon.

I would say:

At pick 8: Best available, probably mid unless Plowman slides then I think we will take him. We could use a KPP but I am not sure if any are worth that pick.

Pick 24: I think we will take a KPP, better to pick the next Key Position player here rather than wait till 33 and get scraps.

Pick 33: We will probably pick up a mid/HFF here, best available I would say. I wouldn't rule out a KPP either.

i think the eagles should go a KPD,maybe 2 of them
inside mid
project ruck in rookie draft

Would have thought that with MacKenzie, McInnes and Schofield West Coast has ample coverage when it comes to young KPD's?

Think you'll probably draft at least one outside mid even though you've picked up Wellingham.

They're likely to get Cripps, don't forget. Saw some footage of one of his earlier games for us on TV tonight and he really has serious speed and uses it to advantage and generally has good skills. He could really have a ball running up and down the wings and flanks of Subi.

Indeed, would be interesting to see if West Coast fans think their so called lack of pace and outside class has been rectified? Seemed to be the one knock on their list IIRC.

WCE needs the following :

Large big bodied midfielders with pace have very few mids over 185cm now on the list (Lowrie type woud be nice)
Outside genuine pace, been lacking this for a few years now really need it. (Josh Simpson type fits the bill)
Back up kpd (Mcintosh or Howson type)

Lack of big bodied mids is more important now we have lost Swift, Stevens and Stevenson who were all 185cm +
and apart from Stevens quick players. This will be Embleys last year as well so there another big outside mid we will lose.

Rookie list
Quick mids eg Dale Hamilton, Harrison Gill and Harrison Marsh types
Project ruck

I think we will just take the best available midfielder. We only have one real pick this year anyway.

McIness is more likely going to be a KPF. Schoey is the perfect third tall/rebounding defender but is not as good as McKenzie and Glass when it comes to playing on the genuine main KPF's. Now, with the potential of losing Brown...our back up KPD stocks are very thin after Glass leaves.

How big a loss will Brown be for the immediate future?

We have so many small to medium forwards on our list it aint even funny, no way we will pick up more -

Krakour (2-3 years left)
Elliot (young medium marking forward, lot of talent)
Mooney (young medium crumbing forward, HUGE potential)
Fasolo (medium marking forward, very good player)
Ugle (might be delisted? but small crumbing forward)
Edwards (available in next years draft under NSW scholorship, has potential, very small forward)
Sinclair (defensive small forward)
Macaffer (marking medium forward)

Could add in didak too. Aside from krakour, they are all also young. With 18 and 19 we will pick up the best inside and outside midfielder available, then with 21 go for the best medium defender with good footskill's. 42 and 48 i expect a small defender and an speculative utility.
