For me it was the emergence of Andrew Lovett. His ANZAC day game was awesome and he went on to thrill the crowds for the rest of the year. A real excitement machine. The retirement of Justin Murphy ran a close second....
The St Kilda victory also rates highly.

Highlight was being told Murphy had got the bullet!

Lowlight was hearing he'd been reprieved for a few weeks.

The real highlights were the emergence of Brent Stanton and the St Kilda victory.

Scotty Lucas returning to the forward line where he belongs!!! Not that we need those 50 goals per season...

Honourable mentions -
Development of Lovett, Stanton, Laycock, Lovett-Murray and Bradley.
Debuts of Monfries, Nash and (esp for mine) Slattery.

The future's looking bright.

The StKilda victory has to be it but everytime I think of the game I think of the goal Riewolt kicked backwards through Peverils legs. Sometimes you can't win.

1. The blooding of 8 or 9 kids - Monfries being a standout. The arrival of Andy Lovett off the rookie list - exciting player.
2. The magnificent form of Stanton - especially playing through the season with a hernia. And the determination of Bradley at chb.
3. Beating the Bulldogs - they were so put out when they lost to us. Beating the Saints was a gem, plus the excellent performance against the Eagles in Perth.
4. A big improvement in the coaching arena from Sheeds, especially in the second half of the season.
5. The cleanout - ok, Henno is still there - a much needed, long overdue occurence. Glad to see the back of Murphy, greatful for the efforts of Allan who, unlike the coach, had the good sense to pull the plug after an injury riddled season. (Sheeds tried to talk him into staying on. ).
6. The recruiting of Camporeale, a handy midfielder, and the return of Heffernan, a handy defender/midfielder. Neither player cost us a thing, no trades, no draft picks. Zilch. Nice work Sheeds and Dodoro. :thumbsu:
7. And we have appeared to have done well in the National Draft - AGAIN.
8. NOT making the final 8 with a below par side and getting early draft picks instead.
9. Trading Teddy to Sydney in exchange for their 1st round draft pick.
10. Always look on the bright side of life.:D

The highlight of the 05' season for me was when an Essendon player kicked the ball up to harf foward and whilst it was in the air Jason Laycock tapped it in front of Lovett who scored a goal. This outlines teamwork between the youngsters.

I think it was in round 4 or 5 against Sydney at Telstra Stadium.

For me,it was the 41 pt loss to the Kangaroos at Telstra Dome.

The highlights were defnitely exposing Geelong and St Kilda for pace and beating them.

Also coming from 7 goals down against brisbane at the Gabba mind you and hitting the front was unbelievable, it was about ********en time we stood up to that mob who continually pants us and I thought we did that with the young squad we took up their.

Pantsing Carlton and Collingwood with our youngest sides in years has to be highlights.
