1. I just witnessed 2009 defensive pressure style gameplan but with enourmous amount of pace and attacking attached to it!

2. StKilda supporters are only fans out there that even 28 points up with 7mins to play consider the impossible of losing the game!

3. Farren Ray answered all his critics. Was BOG with 27 or so touches and smashed Simpson after being moved onto him at qtr time.

4. Lenny Hayes just continues to amaze me. You seriously wouldnt know he is 32 or something and coming off his 2nd knee reco! He also has the best sidestep in the AFL

5. Saad & Milera are the biggest bargains the AFL have ever seen! Thanks to Sheeds & co for handing these two to us for nothing!

6. Jack Steven is having a breakout year. Has taken his game to another level.

7. I could seriously just keep going on and on and on about how awesome this performance was tonight. But ill end it with this...... How good is it to beat these Carlton flogs, seriously there is nothing better! We aren't done with yet. Write the Saints off at your own peril.

1. I would get into Lenny Hayes's van just for the Candy
2. Jack stevens continues to break lines and gets me excited
3. Armitage's determination makes me proud
4. Simpkin outperforms himself and is a much better player than Zac Dawson.
5. Farren Ray should of been in the side from round 1
6. Having 3-4 talls with 3 electric smalls is better than 1 tall and 1 small target.

1. When the umpires give us a fair deal we are a good chance against anyone. It's great to have Warnie out there tweeting.

2. Faz - took his demotion well and has come back stronger than before. I loved his comment on CH 7 about how we have some pace back in the team now.

3. Milera. Wanganeen would be proud tonight.

4. Steven. Just keeps getting better.

5. Hayes. The Saints have their mojo back. How sweet it is that Lenny got one over Judd.

6. Congratulations to Scott Watters. He has a vision for the Saints and we saw that tonight.

7. Memo to Ross Lyon - you can win games by kicking goals.

1. Guess what? We got speed.
2. Winning the tap isn't everything. Work the stoppages hard, watch for backdoor bandits and a quick kick and ye shall be rewarded.
3. Milera and Saad could be a bigger, better version of the Dempster-Schneider deal
4. Not always the big names that need to be shutdown. Agree with Joey that stopping their carriers like Simpson and Scotland was vital (but bad for my DT)
5. Steven is exactly the kind of player worth watching for in the draft. Projected to go top 10 the next year, we took him at 40. HELLO!
6. Next week's going to be hard. Wet Toast, coming off a loss, in WA, after a Monday game.

1) Brian Taylor's maths is shit. 'And Carlton bring it back to 17!' (Difference was 21, more than three goals)

2) Seven's commentators can't pick any of our players other than the ones who have been with us for 10 years plus. Ray was Simpkin, who was Ray and Geary was Dempster, who was Geary all night.

3) Saad should have been brought in from round 1.

4) Anyone who wrote off Ray after his on-sub against Port can queue up and ride my meaty rocket of vindication.

5) Milera can tackle and take hits of his own even if his frame is super-light.

6) Goddard underkicks when trying to kick flat and sends many scooting in front of the intended target.

7) Gilbert needs to be dropped when Gwilt is ready.

8) Those who use the 'St.Kilda are slow' throwaway line don't watch games they comment on.

9) Players need to recognise the ball is in Siposs' hands and stand back a further 10m.

10) We seem to have finally caught on that Jones isn't outside run and delivery personnel.

11) Stanley is better as a forward-drifting/bolting ruck than a lead-up forward who sometimes rucks.

12) We allow too many short kicks inside 50 or out the other side of the zone.

13) Simpkin will become our Full Back for the next decade.

14) Jarrad Waite is the same over-rated knob-end he was as a kid.

15) My cat knows that if I yell then pat him 'til he pukes, it means I'm happy.

16) Carlton should save the 'We're coming' statement for the consolation shower.

1) It's a mental thing, either they expect too much or they lose focus, because genuinely when they apply themselves it's like it's almost surprising when they suddenly have the skill or the work ethic to pull it off. Because when you strip it all down, there's a ball, see it? Fetch or deck the bloke that has it.

2) Still need a lieutenant down back, since Chips is the general of the bunch, as too often was space there to drift into or loose men just drifting about because everyone was far too worried about the next kick and their man instead of the obvious kick in front of them and the ability needed to pinpoint a 70m+ kick. You get burnt so be it, but there were several times the contest needed to be made and that loose player needed to be aware that next time, if he parks in that same space he's getting violated and crapping his pants. Because all it takes is once to make them second guess their choices.

3) Physios & doctors need to just go balls to the wall on the tape the first time, because blokes like Armo will need the extra padding under the packs of bodies instead of a pissy little single wrap job. Lift yo game!

4) Honestly, Lenny, twice in 2 weeks? We bow to your magnificent candy selling abilities.

5) Saad & terry, are going to be quite the handy acquisitions if they continue with that vein of form trend, I am however both amazed and perplexed at Terrys ability to cop a hit with that frame and get straight back up. He's like a friggen cat.

5. Saad & Milera are the biggest bargains the AFL have ever seen! Thanks to Sheeds & co for handing these two to us for nothing!

6. Jack Steven is having a breakout year. Has taken his game to another level.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post in here if not just delete this haha, but these 2 points are so spot on. Steven is an absolute gun and Saad & Milera are both looking to be absolute pick ups. Milera is one of the most exciting blokes with ball in hand!! Congrats on the win tonight your mob was amazing!

1. Lenny Hayes is the best player of the modern era.

2. Chris Judd is the most overrated athlete in any form of sport in the history of the human race.

3. The Carlton cheer squad should be ashamed of themselves.

4. It's amazing what a bit of decent umpiring does for you.

5. I've enjoyed Milera so far but haven't been impressed just yet - until now.

6. Jesus ****ing Christ Saad.

7. JESUS ****ING CHRIST STANLEY.

8. I just about burst the vein in my temple when Armitage kicked that goal in the third quarter. How stupidly, supremely good is he?

9. Blah blah slow no young talent rebuild window closed and oh holy **** here's Jack Steven again...

10. Carlton's gameplan for the first ten minutes seemed to be "Punch every opponent that you can."

11. No sweeter sight than when all those delusional, arrogant Carlton fans stream into the aisles. Carlton fans leave the earliest. Always.

12. Do I need to spell out how shit Gibbs is? I will. He is S-H-I-T.

13. Milne getting gang bashed by half of Carlton and no free kick given was simply hysterical. When he finally got one in the third quarter... ecstasy. AND THE MILNEY CHANT! Stick it up them!

14. This current Carlton playing group will not win a Premiership. They won't even get close. Our youth is already ahead of theirs and we haven't been nurturing it for nearly ten years.

15. Pathetic atmosphere. The entire second level was a sea of grey corporates. Really took the edge off. A normal crowd would have been incredible in that third quarter. The Morabbin Wing and the Lockett End did what they always do best, though. Props.

16. Ray was great. Um. Not sure what to say here. I for one have always measured his worth on the grounds of three years of excellent service to this club. Let it continue.

17. That Goddard goal was one of the best team goals I've ever seen.

18. Someone needs to tell Simpkin he's like 17 years old playing against elite AFL forwards or something. OR DON'T! That would be better.

19. DEMPSTERED!

20. I should really slow down but I'm gushing with so many things to say.

21. Any credit to Watters? As a match day tactician he has copped a bit from people on here. I think this is his first real victory. He quite clearly out coached Ratten. He clearly aimed to utilize the space that Carlton were protecting for their own attacks and ball sharing and the whole dose of their own medicine with the three smalls was brilliant beyond words.

22. Remember that a bit of luck or better umpiring and we would easily be 6-1 right now. It sucks we dropped those two games, but we're in better shape than you'd think.

23. Oh yeah, we did this with no McEvoy or Fisher. Wow.

Ray wasn't best on. Might surprise a few but I'd 100% give the votes to Blake. Waite took 2 marks all night (averaging 10), and 1 of them was when Gilbert was on him. Not akways about possessions. Great game by all, except maybe gram n gilbert

So you dont rate his game on Simpson at all? He was destroying us up until qtr time, then Ray went onto him and kept him to absolutely nothing for rest game. Think he had 8 after qtr time! Whilst doing that Ray collected 27 of his own disposals...

Also totally agree, Blake was awesome tonight.

Loved the tack Watters took tonight. Jones to Murphy fulltime, head-to-heads with Judd (mainly Steven and Lenny), Blake to Waite, Fray to Simpson. All those match-ups were solid wins and serious contributions to the victory.

Putting Hayes head to head with Judd is a no brainer. It's great because Carlton actually think they'll win that match up and won't try to avoid it.

We're not a bad team when we don't get shafted by the umpires.

Milne should just play at Etihad.

For a guy who is one of the worst kicks I've ever seen, CJ does some terrific stuff at times.

Dal is valuable when he just busts his balls to contribute despite a hard tag (not taking a defeatist attitude).

The Saints crowd - superb. The chants for Milne were inspirational.

Aaron Joseph is a weak _unt (hey, I didn't say it!!).

- we have depth (BOG Farren Ray on his return and Fisher, Schneider, McEvoy, Gwilt, Clarke, etc., etc. still out there)

- we have Blake (ruck last week, full back this week, this guy can do anything but win brownlow votes - what a star !)

- we have speed (Milera, Saad, Ray, Stanley... we outran them - and even Kosi appears quicker this year )

- we have Milne (on a day about Carlton's - and our - little speedsters, he showed that he is still the best in the business)

- we have an open window (no dominating team this year, the new style is good for us, no expectations...)

Milne just needed a little friend in the forward line

We needed someone else other than Roo to kick our goals, like 3 years ago!

11 goalkickers again, love it, far less predictable.

Heard that Farren had a career high 14 contested possessions :thumbsu:

On that, wasn't it nice to yell 'go faz' again

Mark the 14th May 2012 in your diary as the day Rhys Stanley grew up

Even after showing signs of improvement in the preseason, Gilbert is still struggling, bigtime. Has about 2 weeks to turn it around, else there will be options to replace him.

I was just super proud. And enjoyed the game so much. Easily the best win we've had probably since 2010.

Watching Armo do his thing is bliss :D

Oh and when Milney finally hangs up the boots. I've already decided that the new chant will be TERRRRRRRRRR-RYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

**** I just love saying his name.

No you're right. To be honest I thought everyone bar a couple did their bit. I love seeing the team with a bit of Agro. And although he didn't get much of the ball, I thought dal was super good, really threw his body in. Still smiling this morning. Not getting carried away tho, just look at norf supporters when you go nuts after 1 win

1. a little like 2009, but greater offensive play and quicker. however, disposal is still not clean.

2. Gilbert needs to go back to the vfl to gain confidence

3. Saad and milera were and are bargain picks good onya Sheeds

4. please sign Armitage, Stanley and Steven soon
5. we all love Lenny

1. Steven roves the ball from ruck contests brilliantly.
2. Blake might've got a Brownlow vote tonight I reckon. Superb job on Waite. Love that knows when to just hack the ball forward or when there's more time.
3. Can't remember us having such an even contribution.
4. Not sure Sippa works as a sub.
5. Anything can happen this year if there's belief. We've still got the main ingredients to go a long way.
