I just watched the last 5 minutes again and it highlighted to me how important he is to our side and why we need him in there.

The kid makes an impact. He's done it in a number of games already and all he needs now is to bridge his best and worst. That will come with experience.

In the last quarter he :

- Dived on the ball to win a free for in the back
- Dished off the handball to Ryder for the running goal.
- Found space to get onto Lovetts magic run and slotted the goal to give us a chance
- Tackled Toovey then a second effort to lay a tackle on Davis who kicked it OOF for Dyson to goal.
- Turned Toovey inside out to almost win the game but stuffed it up and fumbled.
Exactly right. I was going to say the same thing. He had a huge impact in us winning the game in the last 5 minutes.

I have to agree on that.
He could've won the game for us, but he decided Zaharakis should get the rights ;)

Heard on MMM on the way home that Jetta coped some kind of hand injury during the game, but haven't seen anything else about it... Hopefully explains his fumbles, but I thought his defensive pressure was top notch and was unlucky not to get a free for holding the ball against Toovey just before his follow up tackle on Davis which caused the out of bounds on the full.

For those that keep on saying Jetta had a shocker.. is that becuase of the last mistake?

He had 10 possessions, chased and harassed well, had 3 assists and had 3 tackles.

He played on Harry O for the most part who's a very good defender.

He set up Ryder's goal in the last, put his head over the ball to win a free then dished off the handball 30 seconds later.

He got a goal to bring it back to 8 and looked like the only guy that was going to kick a goal for us and was buzzing around.

Not a great game but did enough to hold his spot and gives the team something up forward to work with.

The 2 tackles that resulted in Dyson's goal was an unbelievable effort. The first should of been incorrect disposal and free to Leroy 15m out on a slight angle. He really could have kicked the last 3 goals of the match and everybody would be singing his praises.

What a win! Hard to assess game when you end up with the chocolates but the reality is that we got lucky, very lucky! That said.. I'll take luck everytime!!!!!

Positives:
Jetta was great imho.. kept working hard, put in 2nd-3rd efforts. Was absolutely instrumental in that last 5 mins. Had a part in all three goals. This guys is the future of our forward line.
Ryder: Gun, loved his game, best for the club so far and nothing to suggest he couldn't keep it up for the next 8-10 years!
Lovett: Quiet early but worked his butt off.. loved that dash obviously but also the tackling pressure and creativity. Could make the leon davis leap into elite midfielder by end of year.
NLM: Much, much, much, much better than Nash.. good selection table work.
Dyson: Best game for the club.. he really impressed me and if he can repeat this more than once a season he might just be a player

Negatives:
- Lucas, too old, too slow, outta form, outta touch, can't mark, can't run.. time to go or at least back to Bendigo. 2nd week in a row he might as well have been wearing opposition colours. Unlike lloyd doesn't seem to have the engine or the hunger to find another role or assist the team in other ways when not scoring.
- Myers: If this guy is our future we are in trouble. NOT giving up on him but wow.. not impressed thus far. Looks slow, no vision, output is low.. no gut running. Waste of space atm.. bring back houli.
- Hille: Worst possible luck.. this is going to hurt all season. 1st and 2nd option ruckmen are now unavailable. Could be a season derailer.
- Conversion: Goal kicking practise needed. (think lloyd is far too worried about 900).. have to convert every opportunity.

Other than that.. woooo hooo.. definately playing above expectations and when we run and carry it is exciting, freeflowing and good to watch!!

Carn the Bombers!!

Please, I'm getting quite sick of people slagging off Myers endurance when it's been stated numerous times why he is struggling.

Make an assesment on him no earlier then round 10-12.

If he isn't 100% fit he shouldn't be playing. Play him into form in Bendigo. He is not J Hird who could still warrant selection at 60% fitness!! If he puts his hand up to play then I am going to judge him on what I see. He has done nothing and hence why he will be assessed as doing nothing.

The word you are (fruitlessly) searching for is prolific

If you get 1 touch one week, 1 touch the next, and 1 the week after that, you are consistent (to a fault!). If you have 50 touches one week, 5 the next, 45 the next, you are inconsistent but prolific.

What is taught in schools these days?

Agree with the opinion though. Davey & Lovett having 15-18 each normally equates to being involved in 3-4 goals each. Jetta was struggling for just about everything before kicking that (very important) goal. I would stay the executioner's hand a week.

I liked the backline this week. Essentially onto our 3rd full back for the year - Hurley/Daniher now Pears dropped right back.
Yes, Anthony kicked 4. 2 on turnovers, 2 on hard leads straight out & good delivery - hard to stop. What was good was Pears stuck to it, and got involved in some good run from defense.
I am watching the backline now, and comparing it to a year or 3 years ago and barely believing the trust, skill & nous they've quickly developed.

Only ins/outs are from injury.
