What would you give for Tim Boyle??

Re: Tim Boyle?

Lead after lead and he is more often ignored. Needs a full pre season and could kick around 50 goals. So would be handy. Is a nice set shot for goal too, usually.

Re: Tim Boyle?

Boyle is a good player to have on our side. Can be a great backup for depth, or be that extra extra tall man to exploit a short backline. I wouldnt be letting him go.... the question is whether he would want to stay as he will always be the shadow of Buddy and Roughie

Re: Tim Boyle?

Could be a valuable player in the right role.

Has the potential to be better than thommo (if thats a compliment)

Reminds me of John Barker more than anything, gets into soem damaging spots

Re: Tim Boyle?

If someone offered a 1st rounder for him, I would let him go, other wise is too valuable for depth. I understand that many (probably rightly) would say that he isn't worth a 1st round pick, but I don't think we have any reason to give him up and help anyone else out.

We have Dowler and Thorp coming along nicely but KP players are worth gold! I wouldn't be surprised (as silly as this may sound) to see Franklin play more time on the wing/midfield next year and see one of the other potiental forwards (Boyle, Dowler, Thorp) be given a go (that or Campbell to be played down back and Taylor and Renouf to Ruck). Just a thought.

Save the spin-doctoring for trade week mate, no-one here is going to swallow that much bullsh1t on this forum !!

Re: Tim Boyle?

Boiler is a good mark & lead and a beautiful kick - when fit. You put him in the Geelong or Doggies team playing out of a goal square and he would add value.

Boiler is a better option than guys like Mooney, Welsh, Lonergan or Hahn.

Injuries have made his trade value is low so we should not bother. Why improve your opponents for little reward?

Problem is, he comes to the Bulldogs and he get's the Darren Glass's and Scarlett's of the AFL. Yea ok, so he at least he takes them out of the equation but why would we need him when we can use a Welsh or Hahn to take them out of the equation.

HF: Akermanis, Hahn, R.Murphy
FF: Higgins, Welsh, B.Johnson
Rotation: Harbrow, Giansiracusa, Minson, Tiller, Skipper, J.Grant (young'uns that need games - Ayce Cordy, Boumann + 2008 draftee's)

I can't even see Boyle getting a game at the Dogs. Why would we fork out anything more then a 3rd rounder?

I dunno what young guys you have coming through.

You need to beef up your forwardline. Hall would be the ideal pick up. You are not going to pick upplayers of the ilk of Brown, Bradshaw, Roughie, Buddy or Fev. That leaves guys like Boiler.

You have got a good mid field dont waste it.

I just listed them.

Also add Everitt and Williams to possibilities as our back line is starting to sure up.

Like I said, I can't see Boyle getting a game at the Dogs. Even if he was good enough to get a game here and there he's not worth a lot trade wise. Especially with his past injury concerns.

Boyle would've been more then servicable in a Geelong jumper on Saturday! lol. He is originally a Geelong boy...

Anyway, with a premiership team and the players you've listed (Thorp and Dowler) coming through, is there risk of Hawthorn needing to let players go to allow for the salary cap? Boyle being one of them?

2nd rounder for boyle and taylor

or a 2nd rounder for thorpe alone

Nup.

Neither benefits Hawthorn but greatly benefits Richmond. We're not in the business of making our (potential) rivals stronger.

Taylor will want to prove to Hawthorn that he should be a starting 22 ruckman in 2009. Thorp is earmarked for big things if he can get his fitness base right. Boyle is a solid depth player.

Not a lot, doesn't fit what we need as a club. Being 24 works against him too with the youth movement at the Dees set to continue.

He wouldn't be in our best 22, so I wouldn't want him. A club lacking height up forward could look at him...pick 40+ would be about right.

I think that Tim Boyle will go to Adelaide because Adelaide need a key forward like him and Adelaide will use pick 44 to get him to Adelaide.
