Ash Hansen is currently negotiating a new contract with West Coast.

While a trio of West Coast's young interstate talent - Selwood, Staker and Rosa - are expected to re-sign this week, Hansen has opted to delay signing until the end of the year.

Apparently, talk of him heading back to Victoria has been growing louder since the start of the year. Could be bollocks. Could be a sign that he'll be traded at year's end.

He's 23 and 198 cm. Probably WC's best option at CHF.

What would your club offer WC in a trade?

West Coast would probably want a first round pick ofr Hansen, and with Carlton not prepared to give that up and also with Jarrad Waite, a more dominant CHF i really doubt Carlton would even consider that trade.

Offer nothing:

Set our sites on drafting with the picks we have.

I would only consider a Hartlett - Fabian DeLuca trade as we need a young ruckman woth potential.

What would your club offer WC in a trade?

Half a packet of chicken twisties and a sip of an iced coffee Big M.

Nothing. Early third round at a pinch.

The problem is that the bottom three or four clubs are all in Melbourne, so it's a buyer's market. It depends on whether he really wants to come home, or if he's just driving a hard bargain. We've definitely got the salary cap, but we already have a tall list so I doubt we'd be breaking our back to make the deal - even though Hansen is definitely good.

Essendon would go for the deal though - in a big way.

Iced Coffee?????? That's being a bit generous isn't it? I was thinking more along the lines of Strawberry or Chocolate.

lmao, he can't even get a game with a team with no good tall forwards.

$2000 per year, and a 1 year contract with the Bullants Reserves. :)

Pretty tough guys. Hansen is a good player and has a fair upside IMO. The problem is how do we fit Fev, Waite, Fisher, Kennedy, Hartlett, Setanta, Whitnall plus rucks into the same side. We are top heavy for forwards once Kennedy hits his straps and Waite and Fish come back. A mid, a ruck or a defender would be preferable. Therefore we would offer less than Hansen is worth.

How incredibly original!

I reckon I've only seen this kind of stupid one-liner 1000 times.

A vibrant sense of humour must be essential when your team is sitting 15th.

Carlton are obviously jam-packed with quality players.

I agree. One of my pet hate responses on BigFooty. But then usually it is directed at us. The carbon rod one is another that irks me.

Anyway, not that we have so many good players. Out of the forwards mentioned, I would have Fev, Waite and the occasional cameo from Lance ahead of Hansen. I would have Fisher and Hansen ranked about the same and the likes of Kennedy and Hartlett (played forward and back in U18s) haven't done much so are obviously behind right now. Deluca ... forget about it.

So on the surface Hansen would slot right into our forward line at full strength. Problem is we would have to give up something and we have to allow for Kennedy to come into the side eventually rather than stockpile forwards in the Bullants side and have them leave disillusioned.

I only know Hansen as a forward, can he play anywhere else?

Absolutely nothing!!!! The Forward line isn't a problem.

Waite may be able to play in Kouta's spot. He has good run and is pretty versatile. There may be better places we can use him.

Exactly right numb nuts, get a sense of humour (same with you ODN).

No need for a serious response all the time.

Just because I don't rate him doesn't mean I can't have a say.

How is it that we can't poke ***** at other clubs however we must eat ***** sandwhiches when it's our players, especially WHITNALL????????

I would think Melbourne will give up a first rounder, given their need for a Centre Half Forward and their ageing list. Allows them to play Miller at CHB permanently and Rivers at third rebounding tall.

Hansen is a real chance to go to the Bombers in the PSD... Or involved in a Hawthorn deal including Williams/Franklin.

Ash Hansen is a really good player; and probably as good a Full Forward as CHF, for those that saw him earlier in his career... but he just doesn't suit our needs and that's all there is to say really.

What are you on about? Do you have a quota for offending people?

Over the past 6 years on BigFooty I have tired off that type of analogy so I agreed with him. Nowhere did I tell you not to do it or bag you for doing it. Just expressed my personal opinion of which I am entitled. If I see something I agree with I will say so, if I see an opposition supporter trying to post constructively as we always encourage and they cop **** for it, I am not adverse to showing a bit of diplomacy in addressing them either.

Secondly, you can have your say however I doubt you were giving a sincere answer to what was a fair and sincere question. We ban all manner of opposition supporters for coming in here and having a shot at us and then when someone comes in here respectfully, we have a shot at him too. I don't get it. I don't want BigFooty Carlton supporters to have a feral profile.

I don't get you here either. Bay 13 is fair game for that sort of thing from all supporters including Carlton supporters. No opposition supporter can come to this board and bag us. This thread wasn't bagging us either so I don't really see the relevance.

btw the Carlton board has banned more opposition posters than any other team board on BigFooty. We don't eat too many **** sandwiches.
