OK here is the scenario would you prefer the club that you follow has a win in the NAB Cup but then finished near the bottom of the ladder at the end of the year or would you prefer the club finished between 7th - 10 on the ladder which means they have had a reasonable year but not quite good enough to be a threat for the flag. Obviously we would all like our clubs to win the flag each year however that is not going to happen. So if you could choose between the 2 what would it be.

You always aim high in the home-and-away season. The supporters pay to see their team do well. So i'd go with 7th - 10th.

Tough question.

Win the NAB Cup and finish bottom 4. At least you would have some optimism heading into the home and away season. I also saying winning the NAB Cup because winning something is better than winning nothing (although some would say winning the NAB Cup is winning nothing anyway).

I guess you talk from experience. (Not flag winning)

Was waiting for that. But my statement is true. Finishing on the bottom will do the club's future a lot more good than losing a Grand Final by a point after the siren. (As long as it isn't an unstable club with no money, eg: Carlton, Kangaroos, Bulldogs).

It's a sad fact of modern footy and I think the AFL needs to offer more incentive for teams to do well throughout the season. (Eg: More requests for the draw/bonus cash for top 4 or something along those lines)
