i never could decide which is better, a draw or a loss?
a draw is good coz u get points 4 it and well... its not a loss but then again if its a draw u both lose coz no-obe wins
i like 2 have a winner at the ned of the day!
also do u prefer to lose when you had a chance and u could've won if only... or do u prefer to lose by getting thrashed (if u HAD to lose)

really depends! At one of the Port v Brisbane draws, it sorta felt like a win, even tho it wasn't. To come back in the last 2 mins and draw the game was good. Certainly better than a loss. Tho for a team that has lost a lead and ended in a draw, it would feel like a loss I suppose.

Definately a Draw is better than a loss.

If it wasn't for the draw against Port Adelaide this year, Geelong would have finished 8th and had to play in Brisbane. At least this way we got a home state final, one more than the Bulldogs got

Danni, that second draw felt more like a win, with the comeback and all.

That was SO brilliant!!!!!!!! Anyway. I prefer a draw to a loss, for sure.

There should be extra time in all games.

The Dons/Pies draw on Anzac Day years back was probably the most anti-climax footy feeling I've ever had.

A draw definately! You get points from it whilst you walk away with nothing if you lose right?

Like in the Eagles vs St Kilda game this year which was a draw - much better to come away with 2 points rather than 0.

A draw is like percentage - your'e always ahead of the teams with the same number of wins

But if its 5.13 to 6.1 - shouldn't the team with most goals win ?

It's pathetic when a team wins by scoring a point - like when melbourne punched the ball trhough against the Hawks in 1999 - the game degenerated into volleyball

well after the morbid feeling after the saints West Coast first eva draw at Colonial this season i think id have to say a loss. Although by the end of the year i think i appreciated the draw was not a loss.

Clearly a Draw is preferable to a Loss. And there is no way they should play extra time in Home-and-Away games. The possibility of a Draw is just part of the game ... and trying to force a behind in the dying seconds when the scores are level is a lot more exciting than watching a pretty boy full-forward throwing grass in the air as he lines up for a regulation goal.

As for losing by big margins or small margins ... I would much rather lose narrowly for two reasons:

1.Percentage
2.I am more likely to feel that I've got my money's worth. At least I've had something to get excited about.

There's nothing worse than just sitting there and watching your team get annihilated all day long. The disappointment of a narrow defeat feels worse when the siren goes ... but over the whole day it's much better to see your team being competitive.

I actually got more satisfaction from Collingwood's 1999 season (4 wins) than I got from the 2000 season (7 wins) because the 1999 team was very competitive nearly every week, whereas the 2000 team got consistently humiliated.

In a way, it's a bit like those idiots who would rather not make the finals than have the experience of losing a Grand Final. At least if your team has done well enough to make the GF, you've had a good season ... and you've seen your team win a lot more games than they've lost.

i think i'd be uspset if we drew or lost only depending on who we played. if we played a really shit team and we lost then i'd be pretty pissed off; i'd deff. prefer to draw. but if we were playing some team that was as good as essendon, then i'd be happyest with a win, but i think a draw would be ok. i'd think that we'd lose, hoping that we'd win though, but i'd be happyer to drw than to lose.
If i had to shose between losing but heaps and beeing thrashed, or losing by one or two points, i'd have to say one or two points. however i do know that i'm go home saying 'we could have done it!! a couple more secons and we could have one!' i'd be pissed off the rest of the day (eg. melb losing by one point against north, earlyer this yr), but its better than being thrashed!

it all depends on the situation if the tiges were leading all day then i wouild feel cheated if drawn however if we had come from behind id say a fair enuff result and if the game was so close either way all day then id say both sides would feel the one that got away.
cheers!

hello sarah!
you know that the dees are betther than carlton. well, they were at the end of the season, and you knew we were going to beat you, you just didn't want to admit it!!! thanx to you and your team carlton, we did get into the grand final, and just because we didn't win it, we got in, and you didn't! so i'd say that its way better getting into the grand final, coz you end up 2nd on the ladder anyways!

just adding to your little massage dees*gal:
sarah don't bother replying coz we don't want to hear what u have to say!
have a great day!
