Over the last few months it seems the WWE has become obsessed with unifying every title that ever existed. First it was the Euro and Intercontinental, then the Hardcore and now the World Title.
Why does the WWE insist on cutting off soo many angles and shooting itself in the foot?
The Euro and Intercontinental was understandable. No one really knew what either belt meant and apart they meant **** all. But the Hardcore division had real promise to bring back and savour some of the old ECW flavour. Having finally overcome the effects of the Maven vs Undertaker feud, i personally think it would have been great for guys like Dreamer, Jeff Hardy, Hardcore Holly, Ryhno (when he comes back) etc etc and would have finally given the WWE a place to stick Bubba and his family far away from the main event arena.
With the plans to unify Kane and HHH's titles at No Mercy, the WWE continues to curtail its story line possibilities. Without any titles to aim for, middle stream wrestlers will have to be thrown into crappy personal disputes which means more of the... you cost me the match, you beat up my friend, you gave me a stink face, you disrespected me, you secretly took photos of my woman, you cried after every lost match and then sought my help as a mentour, only to turn your back on me after finally winning a match when i hit my finishing move while the ref's back was turned SH1T!!
If the WWE doesn't get over its obsession to crown the most super RAW superstar, RAW will soon join Smackdown off the air and we will be left with nothing more than a grunting, snarling, sledgehammer bearing, roid abusing warthog arse.
