We were stuck on the NBN Fixed Wireless network dealing with congestion and average download speeds. Bit of buffering when watch Netflix at night time here and there.

Optus put a 5g tower up about 900m from our home so we switched over to their 5g home internet.
Pretty happy, getting over 800mbps down when near the WiFi, and even at the furtherest part of the house I still get over 300.

NBN wouldn't connect me. It was a game changer to go from ADSL2+ 12/4 to Starlink 300/25.

But at $139/month Starlink has become expensive compared to the 5g home plans. I will wait to see if they lower their prices. Telstra are telling me they can connect me on a 5g home plan for $85/m.

Amazing you posted on another forum starlink only costs $269
And now this amazing.
You never mentioned the monthly fee on top per month.

Amazing LOL.

You are getting confused between the one off fee for the Starlink kit (dish and modem) and the monthly charge for ongoing internet access. Full price for the kit is $549 but they are always discounting. I got mine for about half that but just yesterday I got an email that if I refer and the person signs up they pay $0 for the kit and the first two months internet are free.

Starlink would have swept up a lot of people who couldn't connect to the NBN. But now they are having to respond to the lower prices from 5g home internet. They have recently introduced a Residential Lite plan for $89/m. This is the power of competition and technical innovation in the market.
