I didn't appreciate beers and was fiercly loyal to VB and Crownies before moving overseas and being introduced to microbrews and Belguin beer. Hoegaarden is my beer of choice.

Will Bourbon do??

I hate beer! Missed many a free piss up because of it. Wild Turkey is totally my choice of Bourbon. Great kick, good flavour!!

Like most beers but Carlton Draught or Melbourne Bitter for me! Draught would be my first purchase though.

I'm not really a beer drinker, nor a drinker of any sort (madatory victim of the designated driver's program through my uni days ;) )

But I must say that Hoegaarden would about be my fave, too... I am not an educated beer conoisseur, i drink it, and either I like the taste, or I don't.

So please let me ask u beer buff hawkers, in regards to Aussie beers, I like Cascade premium and Crown Lager, are they generally regarded by the beer-lovers in Aust as excellent, good, averge, bad or crap?

Steinlager, $39 a slab at uncle dans and a mighty fine drop. The kiwis finally got something right.

I had a Sol beer in Mexico for 12 cents but you had to drink it on the steps of the shop so you would give them the empty bottle.
Excellent
I went to order a Corona also in Mexico the local said it was gringo drink and ordered me a Tekate which is the one mexcians squeeze lime in and put salt on the rim......... it tatsted like VB
But when I worked at CUB and they still made Abbotts Invalid Stout and you could sneak a drink out of the 6 storey high vat when no one was looking and before it got pasturised..........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

All crap. Most big Aussie beers are rubbish, but due to popular icons used in clever advertising ads, people believe they are good beers.

Cascade's not terrible(but it aint much better than terrible) and dont be fooled into thinking it's Tasmanian, cause its not. It's owned by Foster's and brewed on the Gold Coast at Yatala, using water from the Hinze Dam(GC water supply).

They also brew Guiness, Kilkenny and Stella Artois.

If you wanna try a decent Aussie beer try a Coopers, or some of the James Squire beers(although not Australian owned, it is brewed here).

Crown is pure Fosters
Fosters is pure sometimes but usually mixed with a percentage of what ever is left that week of production.
