The last quarter was when all the mental pressure was on. It is easy when you are 5/6 goals down to throw caution to the wind and play well.

When you hit the front and have a chance at winning, is when the pressure is on. That is like the short putt you need to make Foley, where were you when it mattered? As ususal, play well when the heats not on. What happened to delidio in the last quarter?

Jake King can simply never be selected again. That horrendous turnover in the third that cost us two goals was the worst I have seen. Couple that with the 50 m in the first quarter, the late hit on johnston and he has in essence cost us the game. Mcguane hitting the ball away was in frustration in having to play with King.

Who was on johnston in the last quarter? Was it polo?

zero /two about to be zero/three.

The honourable loss theory is absolute crap. The same thing happened early last year agaisnt St Kilda, Bulldogs etc but it ultimately cost us a spot in the finals.

By the way, Tambling was omitted not injured

Play like this and we'll beat the Dogs easy. King had his moments, like running down I think it was Lonergan when he was running into an open goal. And I don't think it's just a coincidence that when King is in the team we are far more attacking out of defence with run and carry. He is a better version of McMahon in both attack and defence.

And yes you don't accept these losses, what you accept is that we now know we can nearly match it with the best, so we should be able to beat all the other 15 sides in the competition. So we know it's not the list or tactics, it's the mindset of the players. Get them up like this every week and we will win more than we lose. But we do need to learn how to finish off a tight game against good opposition..

Once again, when the game was there to be won we had just too many passengers. When you have the momentum you go in for the kill, not sit back and wait for others to do the work. This club has been missing the killer instinct for the best part of 25 years. Just crap. Honourable loss my arse. Another 2 or 3 losses in a row and no one will remember this "honourable" performance. I feel like spewing up!!!

Sums it up perfectly, we hope things will happen instead of making things happen, why stop??? keep running and take the game by the balls. Story of our culture, do just enough to hide from the glaring spotlight, be content that you were "competitive". Maybe if we set ourselves to win instead of being "competitive" we wouldve gone on with it. Not good enough.

Not reading anything into it because I've seen it all before and will count for naught if we drop our bundle again during the season, and history suggests it will happen again

We just played our best game for long time against arguably the best side of the last 2 years... at skilled stadium... and we are able to blame a guy who has played his first game back for a loss.

Get a grip. King is not why we lost. Stop hanging our players...

Best game for a long time? It's friggen round 2 nut!!! What the hell are you talking about???? It was just crap in the end. 1st half we were lucky to be only 5 goals down. Geelong played at 50% capacity and were without a ruckman all day.

What a joke.

It was Raines last week kicking 8 goals for Carlton( betts five, three form his turnovers) and King this week doing totally stupid, unbelivable things for an AFL footballer.

He and Foley's disgracefull last quarter cost us the game.

Get over it blameing King for one mistake I thought he did well today. How about you talk about those senior blokes who killed us last week not a bloke who's come in to play his first game in long time.

There is never pleasing some of you guys, Geelong are the best team in the comp...we lost by 20 points, the last quarter we were so stuffed that when they moved the ball from defence to forward there was no time for us to get back. I thought it was a great effort today and it shows we can/will play finals this year.

IF only he made one mistake!

You must have only watched five minutes of the game!

we need a tall forward to stand up and and spell danger ea time the ball enters I50, it's really going to work against us this year in those marginal games that we have failed to develop a fella to play that role...Hughes may do a steven bradbury and walk up and take sarges place, he's being carried

the game changed today when ottens left the field.. we were 20 odd points down and ottens left the field and we smashed them in clearances late in 2nd quarter and of been in front by 2-3 goals at 3qtr time if those flipping umpires werent a joke...

Bull. We were in a winning position and had them on the ropes when they were most vulnerable. No ruckman and a shaky defence. Our dumbness cost us again. We need to find that killer instinct from somewhere.

Stop making excuses. Good efforts will not save wallace and he knows it.
