The media are holding back right now.

They are all waiting for the right time to build the hype over this kid and personally I feel it will happen within 4-6 weeks before the season is out.

They need to make sure they have the stats to support their opinion, not to give them credibility, but because we know how good they think it looks when they put numbers side by side.

Trent Cotchin didn't have a pre-season, so stats go out the window if they don't suit the argument when it happens. Media can just say "If he had a pre-season..."

So what do you guys think?

Will it happen before the year is out, during the pre-season, or mid-way through 2009?

I really can't see it happening any later than that, so make your vote above and we'll see what the general public think.

Good point, they both have had no pre-seasons, so they're on an even par there . . . and they are both back from an injury . . . and Cotchin's only a rookie, so why not make the comparison now? Cotchin in his first year must be ahead considering judd's in his 7th . . . but i wouldn't compare him with judd, i'd compare him with no.29 at geelong.

Cotchin reminds me more of ablett . . . and who knows who he'll be next year when he gets a pre-season under his belt.

Comparisons with Judd in regards to the start of their careers.

They will compare Cotchin's 1st season to Judd's 1st season reminding everyone Trent had less of a pre-season.

Will dominate footy discussion after a couple more games to confirm everyone's thoughts.
