Gee, nobody named Bentleigh said this was going happen..

What's your point? I tipped us to finish 9th too, and I think it's fair to say we differ quite a bit on how we'd like to see the list be managed.

I see 9th as an improvement - so long as the line on the graph is pointing upwards.

Worry about trade week and picks once the dust has settled.

We are playing a young team and improving, the assumption taken by people like you thinking you need to be at the bottom is completly wrong and incredibly ignorant, the only way a team is going to improve is by winning games, not losing every year. We are on the way up you just dont want to admit that you're wrong.
We have gone from
2004- 16th
2005- 12th
2004- 9/10th
We are on the way up and will get better next year while we are still injecting young talent into the side.

Ok, another year of disappointment and no finals. I know everybody is sick of this.

So where we really at???

Yesterday we played the Bulldogs who have got a lot of really good experienced players like Grant, Johnson, West and Smith supporting their young gun players. At RFC we have an ordinary bunch of senior players Johnson, Richo, Bowden supporting our young players.

Our backline is pretty ordinary with Gaspar, Hall, loose Joel Bowden. Kellaway is a warrior and can not be questioned. Gaspar & Hall are basically finished. So who's going to play in defence in '07??? I know people are going to mention Thursfield, but his spindly framed body can't cope with AFL.

Rodan, Chaffey and Tivendale are all useless hacks. Stafford has been disappointing and will retire.

Our forward line is a joke. Richo can't kick goals, and Schulz and Krak are up and down. Nathan Brown, for all his injury problems, is a big mouth media seeking over rated player. He's getting on in age too. How many good games has he played for RFC?

Our shining lights this year have been Raines, Polo, Simmonds, and the improvement of Pettifer, Hyde, and Tambling. We all know Delidio is talented but he has not delivered this year.

Roach, Knobel, Jackson, Pattison, Hartigan and Moore's careers are all on the line.

I am starting to see the frustration and strain is getting to TW. He looks frustrated by our turnovers, bad decision making, and butchering of the ball by foot.

So where are we going to finish is '07 and when will we ever see finals footy again, let alone a Flag????????????????????????????????????????????

:) HARSH, harsh, harsh.
Think we are on the cusp of something exciting.
Schulz barely 21, ditto for Howat and Foley, Deledio, Tambling, Polo, Meyer, White, Pattison, Hughes, Oakley Nicholls, Casserley not quite there yet. The most exciting crop of youngsters at the club since the late 60s.
Richo, Johnson, Bowdens, Newman, Coughlan, Tuck, Brown form a solid core, but need some help in the key defnsive posts. We address that, I see as contending in two years. Man I spoke to Wallace a few week's back - no coincidence he sought a five year contract. From where were at, he realised it was going to take four to five years to turn things completeoly around from the 16th placed team he inherited. I would have thought some improvement in 2005, a little more in 2006, a final or two in 2007 and a possible top four berth in 2008 wouldn't be unreasonable expectations or goals.
Unlike your good self, I'm more a glass half full man. I look at how the likes of Deledio, Polo, Meyer, Tambling, White, Howat and Foley are travelling right now and think with much confidence about just how much better each of those guys will be in two years time when they are 21-22.:) Future is bright!
As for Tivendale...he's no elite performer, but he's no worse or better than a mid-range player at all other 15 AFL clubs. Mate I sit or stand at the footy every week and hear the black and yellow supporters bag him relentlessly but then bow their heads and try to hide when he does good......as if they don't want him to succeed. The guy has been solid this year and think you will find he will finish top 10 or top eight in our best and fairest!!!!:)
