What is incredible is that in such a small industry, how many of the coaches, both head and assistants have played together for the same teams for the majority of their career. The amount of guys our 3-pete team has in top coaching positions is well above what it should be based on averages.

That's not just limited to our team either.
Every coach being somehow linked to Clarko by being an assistant or in another footy department role during his times at Hawks makes sense because they were poached on the fact they were coaching and working under a very successful coach and system.
I know it is a bit of the same theory with our guys, but playing in a system is different to being one of the coaches of the successful system.

Looked like a nice prospect on occasion particularly below his knees for a man of his stature, not physical enough/minimal presence in aerial contests was his problem IMO.

If my memory serves me correctly, he filled in after the late withdrawal of Joe (family reasons) in a final at the MCG and played a good game and was very handy for us. I always thought he could have made a good KPD.

Obviously Tom sought opportunities he wasn’t getting at the Lions when he joined Melbourne. In saying that, I have no idea whether we even offered him a contract extension for last year, but in a strange twist, I thought a couple of times last year that he easily would have got a handful of games had he stayed.

I didn’t rate him that highly but I’ve no doubt reckoned he would have got games in 24 at the Lions or even this year when ironically Melbourne just refused to play him on numerous occasions when they were down key position players last year and I think he only played the one game for them.

Played 2 games for the Demons both this season and 19 games for us.

No, he was never AFL listed. Probably played a bit of NEAFL and VFL for the Lions, but was never on the list.
