Bannister - is keen to play key position in the back half for teh Blues this year. Not sure if he's big enough of wise enough for this but maybe we could use him in a back pocket or back flank. Is super fit, strong and has good pace. Is also a handy 190cm.
McGrath - Is proving his worth to teh club IMO but I can't see him spendiing too much time in the midfield this year, well I hope not anyway! Maybe a back pocket/back flank or tagging role.
Wiggins - Has been tried everywhere and not fired a shot. Is a dedicated team player, very fit, decent pace and is strong enough. Attacks the pill hard and throws his body on teh line. Needs to get a kick though! Maybe as a medium forward on the flank or in the pocket. Would provide great pressure in the forward 50.
Prendergast - Does he play as a mobile ruckman, ruck-rover, wingman, CHB or what? The best I've sen him play is across half-forward running the guts out of his opponent (also kicked 3 against the BL 2 years ago). With Hartlett, Bower, Edwards, Raso, Kennedy, O'hAilpin, Waite and Fisher around him his days are numbered. Could he provide the physical presence we need at CHF like Earl Spalding did with Waite and Fisher around him? Or Bullants? Maybe worth a shot while Kennedy, Bower, hartlett, etc develop?
Sporn - good Bullants player or can he finally get fit and step up? On his last legs at the Club unless he does something drastic this year for the Blues. Can play anywhere, is a tall 188cm and does good stopping jobs (Hird a few times) but just isn't consistent enough. Maybe a spot on the HBF, wing or as a tagging ruck-rover would suit? Liked him when used up forward also.
Thoughts on these guys and others?
