Born in Melb but moved to Teesdale (childhood home of the legendary Leigh Harding) when I was 7; family still lives there, this is my second year living on campus at Monash Uni in Clayton.

Geelong boy, just a stones throw from Metallica_man in Newcomb

Closest I've been to Geelong is Ballan.

Moved all over the state but have settled in Melbourne's South East. Currently in Pakenham. Seem to be moving farther down the highway. Soon I'll be in Warrigal!!!

Lived in the North West suburbs of Melbourne all my life.. near Essendon. (Thats why I hate the football club so much ;))

But I really do consider Geelong a second home.. Folks have owned a holiday house in either Portarlington/ St Leonards area.. So have spent many a weekend down there. :)

Just moved to Brisbane from Melbourne, been here 4 months... speaking of which, anyone know a good afl pub in Brissy - New Farm/Valley area? My fox sports source is soon to be lost.

Moved from Canberra to Geelong last year.

We live in Indented Head :D (no its not a medical condition)

Between Port and St Leonards

In Melbourne's "sweet sherry belt" as it used to be called - middle-class S.E.
Longstanding ties with Geelong because of the coast - best in Victoria! The sweep from the Heads to Lorne matches anything in the rest of Australia.

Ringwood, in Melbourne's glorious eastern suburbs. Grew up in North Bayswater, then Ringwood East, then Maribyrnong for a while (that was interesting), and then to Ringwood. Dad followed Geelong so there's the link.

Have to move in 2 weeks though, so I'm heading in to King Street in the CBD for a couple of months. I'll be about 5 minutes walk from Telstra Dome.

1 minutes walk to certain entertainment venues as well.

God how can you stand living there?? A weekend at St Leos is more than enough for me!! (Summer of course is alot nicer.. you ward off boredom by going to better places.. ie. Queenscliff, the Great Ocean Rd, etc :D)

On the north-western edge of Sydney. Between Parramatta and Hornsby. Nice area - once voted the best place to live in NSW (no, I didn't vote for it!)

Wow, so there is a nice area in Sydney?!

Just kidding!!

It was voted that way more because of it's 'user-friendliness': i.e. low crime rate, house prices high but good value, good public transport location, easy travel to beaches but also Blue Mountains, good public schools (our public schools have better standards than many private schools) etc, etc.

However, I'd still rather live in Melbourne... i could go to see the footy each weekend, and both my wife and I like the colder weather.:thumbsu:
