After dotays game and noticing the lack of passion who do we bring into our side?
Besides Ottens who else is there??
That is if Ottens is O.K.

Injuries last year were HUGE for the Pussie Cats!

He has got a point.

Who is shining at VFL level we are set to see soon?

Mate you havn't got any realistic rebuttels.

8-1 is great.

You think Varcoe is best 22?

I know he was a late call up but Prismall...what are your expectations of him? Future Geelong player or to be traded?

I'm asking a question about who at VFL level do we have the pleasure of seeing in coming weeks?

Truth is probably noone, I don't think we will see many VFL players but I think a few deserve a run....but I've had this argument before ad nauseum. 8-1 is great but some of our games have not been that convincing and tonight we were shown where we were truly at. I was suprised at the margin but let's face it, the pies just couldn't miss in fron of goal tonight. (Take nothing away from them, they were fantastic and NEVER should be underestimated).

We have OK depth in the form of Prismal, Rooke, Davenport, etc. PITY WE PICK ####ING HOPELESS SPUDS LIKE VARCOE AND BYRNES INSTEAD! Always going to be tough tonight. WTF select one of the softest players I have ever seen? Would not have mattered as even our supposedly tough players showed no desire to try tonight but is still one of the more stupid replacements I have ever seen.

Despite winning the flag last year, I think we still lack in the talls department. Our backline would be safe if Egan was up and running but I'd hate to think what would happen if Scarlett or Taylor went down. Harley is way past his best and probably would be behind Milburn to play on a tall should Scarlett or Taylor go down. Who else would be bring in to cover these injuries? Probably Lonergan but not convincingly.

Hawkins will be a star but he needs to work hard and just keep at it! Why the hell would you look to pass it off when you're 30m out. We're a selfless team but when its so hard to take a grab inside 50m, there's no room for fancy crap. If Moons or Hawkins go down, Lonergan would most likely be called up.

Dont get me started on Varcoe. How did he possibly get a call up tonight?

I cant see how he could even have been listed as an emergency in front of Prismal?

I wouldn't be to worried. You lost to a side that had a lot to prove, and this may be the kick up the a55 your players needed. Fact is, you have lost Egan from last year, Star, Ottens hasn't played yet, Star, and you lost Chappy before the game, star.
8-1 start without 1 of your most influential players in Ottens playing at all yet. Still bodes pretty well I would think.

Chappy would have made a difference tonight but our basic skills went out the window. Despite being 8-1, we haven't played that well so a loss was bound to happen. Ottens will make a huge difference but everything fell apart tonight.

Ottens would have helped a bit but even he is not going to look good when every one of our mid fielders not named Gary Ablett Jnr is not interested in working hard to win/find the football.

People forget NAB too. Contributed more than 70 goals last year when you consider his assists which is a big big stat missing. TH isnt quiet ready and Mooney is missing him.

I've found our depth - they are playing in the reserves.

Other than Ottens, Egan and Chappers we still have conditional top 22 players in Shannon, DJ and Rooke out there plus the others. I don't really get this thread.

Our depth is now at St Kilda and Sydney.

But, the past is the past.

The new depth is the key.

No they don't. Sure, we have a few people from opposition clubs start some silly threads, but if someone asks a genuine question or tries to add some valid input...they won't be red carded.

Maybe a yellow, but definitely not a red ;)

We have Ottens, Rooke and Chapman to come in.

After this the players are untried or we keep playing guys like Byrnes

My point is we are playing Ling, Hunt and Johnson who are injured and are performing accordingly. This proves my point if our depth was so good why would we play them???? Why rush back Ottens because our existing rucks are not up to scratch? We stuffed Egan this way

Our depth is not what we believe.

I would rest the guys who are injured keeping the big picture in mind. If they do not come up at the end of the year I am concerned because of the reasons given

Why is it that I can not state my view without being attacked.
Keep personalities out of it and stick to the facts

Gzzz people... no need for panic... just had a poor game & your allowed to every once in a while (all the great clubs did)... we'll bounce back & hopefully we'll do it with some heart & hard tackle at the ball... im not worried atm... why any geelong supporter would be just exscapes me... it's just 1 game... remember that

Our depth this year has been Taylor, Rooke, West, Mumford, Varcoe and Byrnes etc, all of which have contributed to an 8 - 1 start to the year. I'd say our depth is amazing.

Just wait till we have the luxury of deciding between Egan and Taylor; Ottens, Blake, West and Mumford; Gamble, Varcoe, Davenport etc...

We had a great run last year, but injuries will eventually bite you in the arse. How would Collingwood have coped last night without Fraser (Ottens), Didak (Cahpman) and Wakelin (Egan), while R. Shaw (Ling), H . Shaw (Hunt) and Medhurst (S. Johnson) were all under an injury cloud?

I'm not making excuses. The way Collingwood played last night was fantastic and no team in the comp would have beaten them. But don't have a go at our depth which has been fantastic for us so far this year.
