...why thank-you for asking.

I think Jimmy should spend more time up forward next year.

One of the aspects of the Cat's game this year that has been unconvincing for mine is how we bring it forward. It's either a long bomb to a tall, or running shots from 50 from the smalls. Need to get more from a mid size player. Bartel has great footy smarts and I think would be a good 'lower the eyes' option our mids would have confidence in seeking out. He would also command respect from defenders, perhaps making it more difficult to run the ball out of our F50. Not to mention he is a great mark and kick.

He can play some good games accross half back, but I recon he made too many blunders there this year, and the time is now to start forging a new back 6; that will get to know each other inside out for many years to come.

Any thoughts on where he can contribute best for the Cats?

Jimmy's pushing 30 and is contracted to end 2015,hopefully he can be serviceable up forward next year but the good sides will work him out pretty quickly and we will be looking to hide him by 2015, that's not a knock on the man just to many miles on the clock and the downside of the 4 year contract that was required to stitch him up last time.

Don't know why everyone's turned on him playing midfield, but he can play either loose man in defense or forward as well. His year hasn't been as bad as some in this thread would suggest

If he can't play midfield owing to his foot it has to be forward.

Still think he's more than got what it takes to do a few rotations in there. I think it's there and forward he can be most damaging.

Pity he didnt play on Mitchell in the last 15 minutes of that game - more to the point why didnt any Geelong player - Selwood -Kelly- Caddy - take your pick - man up Mitchell

The more i watch the last qtr - the more i think the Hawks were gifted that game - not manning up Mitchell - was a bit like Collingwood let Ablett run amok

Id love to be a fly on the wall when Ross Lyon does a coaches review of Haw / Geel game this week- in preparation for GF - and hear what his comments are - about letting Mitchell having an armchair ride in the last qtr
