I figured it would be at the Gabba if Collingwood win, and the MCG if Brisbane win...

However, there have been whispers that we'll be playing at the MCG regardless of our opposition.

Can someone shed some light on this? Just got back from the game.

Obviously if Collingwood lose, we play the Pies at the MCG.

If Brisbane lose and Sydney lose, we definitely play Brisbane at the Gabba.

If Brisbane lose and Port lose, we may end up playing the Lions at the MCG. However I think the AFL will use the flexibility of the banking agreement (even though they refused to use it for us last year  ) and stage the game at the Gabba.

It definitely will be either Brisbane at the Gabba, or Collingwood at the MCG. Forget the whispers!!

Didn't the AFL announce that they were prepared to use the flexibility of the banking agreement in the second week of the finals if necessary??

Yes, but I was also under the impression they were prepared to do this last year.

Brisbane Gabba Friday Night

If we do play Brisbane, I reallyyyyy hope it's not Friday night. I have to work at 8:30 saturday morning, so I wouldn't be able to go :( :( :(

Well almost definetly be Friday night. I think Demitriou or someone last week said the finals in the second week would be friday night and saturdy night. The loser of Port and Sydney will need the minimum 6 day break so they will have to play on the Saturday night, leaving Adelaide to play Friday night.

I reckon this is as far as we go. An honorable loss at the GABBA to finish 2003.

We played well today but you have to take into account the opposition. If we are to beat Brisbane, we would need to improve at least 20% on todays perforrmance :(

Actually I've heard a few whispers around that Port might miss out on future home finals because of the problems this week with attracting crowds to the two matches. And given that if Port loses they'd be playing Bombers the AFL might consider this.

This could be wrong but that's a whisper that I've heard around.

These whispers have no credibility whatsoever. ;)

I'm being optimistic for the first time in a month, Stiffy! Let me have some glory for the next six days. :(

The loser of Port-Sydney will host a home final on Saturday night at the same time.
