Booing often begins as a symptom of hatred but by the end of the series it seemed as though there was a begrudging respect attached to it.I never did understand why the booing of Broad. One of the better players going around, certainly one of the more watchable players in the England team. So what if he didn't walk? Most players never do, and nor should they, why single Broad out?
I was full of admiration for the way Broad handled it.
Ironically Broad was one of the few English players to come out of that series with a better reputation than he had going in.
You could always see his raw talent but I was doubtful he'd ever produce on it. The second half of his career he now averages 25.57 (37 tests) which is fantastic going. Just looking at his cricinfo profile and didn't realise he has 264 test wickets. He'll end up pushing 400, and at current rate should get his average down to around about 27.
