depends on the water pressure of the shower

i fill my bath with the shower nozzle and that takes way less than 30 mins so ill go the shower

I think a water saver shower head will use about 7 litres of water per minute.

So obviously 30 X 7 = 210 litres..

I think an ordinary shower head uses about 20 litres of water per minute (could be wrong on that figure.

30 x 20 = 600 litres

What's the average size of a bath???

About 190 litres ;)

So their you go...

Shower for sure. Who the hell showers for 30 minutes? There isn't that much you can do in there and once you have done it there is nothing else to do so get out and safe some water.

We'll be on stage 3 or 4 restrictions by Autumn next year given the El Nino conditions and warmer than average temperatures likely to affect to the region over the next 6-9 months

Governments all over Australia seem to have their heads stuck in the sand - desal is not he solution; the treatment of effluent to be used as drinking water is the way I'd go about trying to solve our water problems.

Exactly! Desalination will make problems worse - it takes a huge amount of energy to run each plant. Recycled water is widespread overseas, and there are no problems with it (when done correctly). It is much safer compared with what we have at the moment. The media, however like to make a big song and dance about it. In the recent referrendum in Toowoomba, the bloke leading the NO vote (one of the most respected identities in the region) was spreading ridiculous rumours about the practice - like it could cause AIDS etc.

And I can't stand it being reported as recycled sewage - that is not true! Think about it; it is recycled water.

In terms of the question, the 30 min shower would use a lot more water, but an average shower of 3 or 4 mins would be less. Who has 30 minute showers? Do you read a book or something?

Shower uses more water, but there's no way I have time to run a bath every morning. Another thing... there's no way I'm washing my face and hair in the water I'm sitting in and have shaved my legs in, either!

No way - for normal people showers use much much less water.

I take 4 mins in shower, and I turn on taps, get wet, turn off taps, lather up all over, turn on shower rinse off, turn off taps, get out. too easy.
