Last year Sam Banks had a breakout year. We knew he had talent and with his speed the obvious position for him seemed like the wing. But on the wing he seemed overrun the ball or when he got it, he had too much time and would stuff up his disposal. Half back has proved to be his happy place and his development has been rapid. What other player have been played out of position and would benefit from a move? MRJ Trainor Brown Ross we certainly have a few players to choose from.

The really sad part of your comment is that he is one of the better players we have for kicking the ball into the forward line. I'm pretty sure that is the only reason he is still on our list

Name another player who can hit a target going inside 50. I don’t mean on a break when the forward line is wide open. I’m not saying Sonsie is afl level overall but he is one of our better kicks. What other reason did he get re-signed. Or are all our recruiting staff and coaches not as clever as you

Short. Too timid to be a true defender. Is the equal to any goal kicking prodigy outside 50m of anybody in the entire history of the game. He kicked 3 on debut, another 2 a couple weeks later and ever since the "brains trust" have played him as far away feom goal as possible. Struggling down back last few years....common sense might suggest try playing somebody who's actually capable of putting it through the big sticks closer to the goals in lieu of blokes with zero goal sense..... but wtf do I know? At Punt Rd lately we seem to like playing small forwards who can't score.
I think Brown and Banks should be our defensive wingmen.
Neither have the weapons of Houli/Rioli/Short types to compliment our current KPD’s.
Other than that Ross, Trainor, Dow, Sonsie and Treszise are no wingers.
Trainer back, Treszise if needed back, and sonsie/Ross as midfield backup.

I would love to see Short up on the wing. If he had 10 kicks it would result in 10 entries deep inside 50 which would be better value than he provides at the moment, even it wasn't him kicking goals himself.

He also has a good leap. Maybe he could use those skills as centre bounce ruckman. Imagine looking across the centre circle at Lafau charging in, you would know he was going to hurt you.

Next year we will have at least two good picks, at least one draft pick and hopefully a free agent. Prestia and Broads will likely be gone so at least two positions will need to be found. These three guys and probably Green should be nervous.
