Which player should I use to trade out and which player should I keep (as permanent first benchwarmer):

Dawson v Broughton
- Dawson - permanent player, but doesn't score 100+
- Broughton - higher scorer and will get games when Dockers can't make the finals

Sidebottom v Tex Walker
- Sidebottom - good player, but fringe player
- Tex Walker - donkey boy, unpredictable, but pretty much guaranteed game

Beams v Muston
- Beams - similar to Sidebottom, just outside 22 and currently in the reserves
- Muston - 2 great games, 2 bad games

My underlined player is the one preferred to be traded out. Agree?

i would get rid of Dawson for sure, makes you the most money!

sidebottom or walker 2nd, i think walker has the best job security tho at the moment.

lol @ pedsy

This thread makes me think that maybe i should trade out Cheney instead of Brown as although Brown is a donkey he regularly gets a game. Cheney seems to miss every 2nd game.

Is Dawson now in their best 22? I thought there was a few players coming back or are they already back? (Haven't been paying attention to Saints games lol)

You are going to trade out Muston after only 4 weeks?

He is either a bench player or your second or third best midfielder.

2 bad games on top of 2 good games is not enough for me to decide. Particularly when one of the bad games was against Sydney ... who scores well against their blanketing tactics. Beams v Muston ... Muston will likely play most of the rest of the games, Beams has a lot of competition to get past to get back in as a regular...

Broughton has become pretty consistent and considering the lowish scores from even the best backmen over time I would be pretty keen to keep him as the number 6 or 7 back. Good job by Dawson, pleased to see him come on after his injury problems at Hawthorn. A keeper or trade? Brave move to take him in the first place, he hasn't let you down. Think I would prefer though to hold Broughton, plenty or work there for him on the Freo backline.

I think Sidebottom is pretty safe, contributes up forward and in the mid field. I would prefer to have him running of my forward bench i think

To clarify things, [ignoring the injuries] my team is currently:

B - Goddard, Fisher, Enright, Gilbee, Cornes, Mattner, Dawson (Broughton, Greenwood)
M - Ablett, Judd, Bartel, Swan, Goodes, Power (Muston, Beams)
R - Cox, Petrie (Jacobs, Spencer)
F - Goodwin, Pavlich, Fevola, Deledio, Franklin, Kosi, Sidebottom (Walker, Macaffer)

My question is if I were to:

1. upgrade my 7th backman, who should I upgrade: Dawson or Broughton (taking into account the remainder will be first bench)
2. downgrade Muston or Beam, who should it be?
3. upgrade my 7th forward, who should I upgrade: Walker or Sidebottom (taking into account the remainder will be first bench)

Probably upgrade one of your Mattner's. One is OK, but having 2 of the same guy is probably a bit of overkill.

I'd keep Broughton over Cougar Dawson for sure, Broughtons a gun in the making and I just like the way he goes about it. Should play the remainder of Freo's games you'd think and is a mature aged player.

Plus he scores great too, can only see him getting better from here. Dawson has been great too but he has done his job for a former spud and made you a ton of cash. Time to trade in on your investment. :thumbsu:

Not sure about Sidebum or Walker. I'd keep Sidebum any day of the week if I knew his job security was safe but thats far from certain. Walker is spasmotic in his scoring but does get games every week at least which is similar to M.Brown from West Coast so go with Tex.

I agee with the others re: Muston. Can't see Beams getting back into the Pies lineup very easily. Muston should play rest of the season and I believe he can get back to at least scoring in the 80's so go with him.

Here are my bottom three players up forward as Ziebell is injured and will need to be traded...

Am wanting to to really make an impression in the next few weeks...

I have:

Jack Ziebell, NM, $316,800, Starting
Mitch Brown, WC, $253,800, Bench
Taylor Walker, Adel, $251,900, Bench Emergency.

PLUS: 39,300 in the kitty.

I would like to trade out two of these and upgrade to a real keeper.

Ziebell + Brown = $570,600 + Kitty ($39,300) = $609,900

Downgrade Brown to one of:

Hayden Ballantyne, Frem, $94,200, $515,700 left
Robbie Tarrant, N.M, $94,200, $515,700 left
Shaun Mckernan, Adel, $94,200, $515,700 left
Tyrone Vickery, Rich, $139,200, $470,700
Michael Walters, Frem, $94,200, $515,700 left

Which will leave me with the next question. Do I trade for a real premium like a S.Johnson ($498,800, Aver: 101.00) or a Ryan O'Keefe ($540,100, Aver: 98.82) and one of the rookies mentioned about on the bench with Walker. Or Do I go for a player who has dropped alot in value that may go up in price and start to average a solid 80+ like a Robert Murphy, WB, ([- $107,500] $390,700, Aver: 49.25, or a player like a Lance Franklin who is bound to go up sooner or later, and pocket the cash and put that towards the rest of my team, as my backs who i am looking at upgrading have been solid but not outstanding, so may need extra money down back.

I am looking to upgrade my backs soon as well (Petrenko, Broughton, Grima) in the coming weeks and also my mids (Zaharakis, M.Robinson, Dangerfield) also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would, if possible, wait a week or two before getting S Johnson as his price is still falling from his 38 last round. He'll be worth about 460,000 in two weeks and I know I'm going to pick him up then. Although Murphy is very cheap and still falling too.
