GWS v Brisbane.

I have a rule of thumb saying that games where both sides score in the 95 - 110 range are the best games of footy, it ticked that box. It had many highlights, and probably the only real drawback is the lack of momentum swings and perhaps a bit of a sense of inevitability regarding the comeback.

The Sydney v Geelong game, like many games of that era, was not much to watch. Very low scoring (56 to 53, only nine goals total to three quarter time) and marred my inaccuracy, its only saving grace is an amazing last quarter from Nick Davis, culminating in the match winning goal just before the siren. Indeed, when we talk about this game, there is really no other highlight anyone remembers, probably because there wasn't any.

Swans v Cats was better, I was at the game and the blustery/rain filled conditions was extraordinary.

There was no way any way could have predicted an a career best, one in a thousand off transcendental game from Nick Davis to slay the Cats.

Everyone (including the Swans fans) had the SCG at the time couldn't believe what we saw.

The conditions at the SCG that night really was remarkable, in dry/normal conditions, it would been as unlikely as coming back from 10 plus goals down at 3 quarter time

As a game of football, the answer is absolutely 2024.

However, the individual brilliance in the last quarter of 2005 makes it iconic for its own reasons.

It was a scrappy, scrappy Paul Roos style of game.

Sydney v Geelong had the better last quarter/climax with Nick Davis Has Come 2 Savis as the ultimate clutch player, but the first 3 quarters were terrible. GWS vs Brisbane was a bit more of a full package, but it didn't have the same insane climax. I probably enjoy seeing Davis do the impossible more. It's compelling on paper Brisbane's come back, similar to Essendon in 1993, but I feel like comebacks like that have been done a number of times in finals. I also don't like how Brisbane had a bye before finals, they got thrown a bone there. However, it's that crazy individual effort from Davis that's so entertaining to watch. It's so unique watching one individual player completely pull his team over the line like that, it hasn't been pulled off again, it's so remarkable, there was barely any time left in the game with his final goal, he absolutely pinched it from Geelong. It's especially remarkable how Sydney went on to win the premiership thanks to Davis's semi final individual efforts.

Am biased but 05 for individual brilliance and what it meant to a club that hadn't won for 72 years. Plus home team coming back was an awesome atmosphere.

Having said that the Lions 24 win was farkin amazing and if that wins I get it
